And what can i say, I mean young kristin was such a hard worker just like lana, doing 2 successful shows and all this without a car, I mean her dad drove her to work, the maturity and work ethic is soo much like lana. No freakin wonder they were fantastic on screen in bringing these characters to life. With M. Rosenbaum, he's a jokester and soo full of life with his wit and comedic banter, the fact that he played a serious and layered character like lex is a testament to his gr8 acting skills. Tom/Clark - Showed me how to stay strong, push forward and always be there for family and friends. Michael/Lex - Showed me how to stay informed, be calm and ALWAYS believe in yourself or no one else will. Kristin/Lana - Showed me how to persevere through tough circumstances and it's okay to share emotions with others, that's the human experience! I grew up in a little town like Smallville in many ways. Usually, a boy showing emotion was looked down on. I'm happy times are changing. Thank you for this wonderful podcast!! This was the first episode of Smallville I ever saw. I live in the UK and, despite being a big Superman fan, had never heard of the show. I found it completely by accident while channel surfing at age 15. It took a minute for me to even realise I was watching a show about a young Clark Kent, but I was instantly hooked. Prior to this, I'd only ever really watched TV with my parents. This was the first show that I took time out for myself to watch and enjoy on my own, later collecting the DVD's etc, and continued to love the show throughout its 10 year run, re-watching older seasons in preparation for newer seasons multiple times.

..."changed our lives, maybe changed yours"... I watched this show after school with my dad for years. We didn't have cable but we had the first 5 seasons on DVD and were able to rent the other seasons from the library over time. So many times I woke up to the title music in the menu playing over and over... "Somebody SAAAAAVE me!" It haunted my dreams. But in all seriousness, watching this show with my dad is one of my favorite memories, and its something we can still talk about 15 years later. It was incredible seeing Tom in the arrow verse for an episode, it was such a heart break to not see Michael there too. Thank you guys so much. For Smallville, for this, for everything.

It's true about Kristin's voice. It was very breathy in the beginning of the series and got stronger later on. Really glad you guys are doing this. I've watched the series so many times. Still holds up and the music is always fun. Hearing the songs always gives me flashbacks to those years and that time period in my life.

WOW! Just stumbled on this today. I recently started re-watching the series on HULU and enjoying as much today as watching it for the first time 20+ years ago (especially commercial free!!!). Such a great cast and portrayed amazingly. I always wanted Lana to end up as Clark's life love interest when watching Smallville just because of the chemistry. In any case I am REALLY taken back by the music of Smallville... just awesome music!!!

Oh yeah the season 1 "Leech" episode featured Shawn Ashmore who kind of played the evil Superboy after he stole Clark's powers by saving him with Kryptonite in contact. Shawn Ashmore of course playing Bobby Drake Iceman in the X-Men franchise and interesting enough the Luthor Mansion Castle also stood in for the X-Mansion.

I never noticed these things, I was so in love with the show and Clark that I just enjoyed the show no matter what. To me Smallville was a head of its time with special effects and a cast that appealed to anyone. We all found our favorites ❤️.
