I really liked the simple "primary separator" as it is a good old blow pipe cyclone separator. That technology is decades old but still does a great job. It. The vacuum were strong enough a HEPA filter could further collect the airborne fines. FYI HEPA stands for HIGH Efficiency Partial Arrestor. My 47 year career was totally about those.

I used to have the home depot buckethead version that i used for nasty stuff, if you use it to suck up water you may want to double the buckets to keep the sides from collapsing

I got a couple of those adapters so I could use my Rigid batteries on my Chicago Electric (old HF tool) 1/2" drill that I use on my ice auger. Works great! Glad to see that Bauer makes a separator system for shop vacs. A lot cheaper than getting a Cyclone separator and for those of us with small shops, a lot more compact. Thanks for the video Keith! And that 1st joke was pretty funny!😂😂😂

I first bought into the Bauer line with the steel cut circular saw that I needed but refused to spend like $300 for DeWalts. I bought an adapter possibly the same one and it wouldn't work. I ended up taking the adapter and yellow battery into HF and found it to work on anything except the circ/recip saws. Ended up buying batteries and chargers and working my way away from DeWalt. Love the hacks and your content. Thanks

I have a rigid corded suitcase shop vac I use for my Smoker and Boat. Been thinking about a cordless one I think its a done deal now. Like you I have a ton of drill batteries. Good video!

I used to clean broken door glass and back glass and windshield glass out of cars and believe me. The the bucket back does work. But I use The Home Depot bucket bag. Uh, same thing, but it's made for home depot.Hey they weren't they're good

Ryobi has a bucket top shop vac that’s pretty good AND uses batteries. I use an adapter for my Dewalt batteries

A Week ago I got one of these Bauer Vacs. It was 1/2 the price of the Herc brand. Also, on Amazon I got a Herc -> Bauer battery adapter. I now run the new vac on my Herc Batteries. I have one Bauer battery, but want to stick to blue batteries and blue tools in the future. It's really nice to have a portable vac that I can stick a wand on. I used it to grab all the spider webs and spider nests in the eves of my house.

You don't even need an adapter! The only difference between the Bauer and DeWalt socket on the tools is a little plastic tab which you can break off. You may also have to solder in a 100k ohm resistor to fool the over-temp sensor. I did this on a Bauer leaf blower and now it'll work with any DeWalt battery, ymmv on the other tools.

Great video, Keith. These hacks are pretty good. Especially the last one with the cyclone dust collector. I do a lot of woodwork, and it's such a pain to vacuum saw dust, then have to stop remove the filter, clean it, then repeat. Also like that washable filter. My wife said to tell you thank you for giving me ideas thats going to make me spend more money. Sorry buddy, I told her that you said " any man that didn't get this stuff, aint much of a man." By the way, she wants to talk with your wife !!! I tried to tell her that Cranky was tge trouble maker. She just gave me that " wide" look. Keep up the great work, buddy. Use a shop vac on the end of your air conditioning unit drain line at least once a year to prevent a clogged drain

Want to have some real fun, HF Hercules 20v batteries will match up with DeWalt tools and unless the tool is "looking" for its own battery they will work. The two batteries have some different edge plastic, but nothing a little file can't fix. Not unlike back in the day swapping Black & Decker and Porter Cable batteries, although those two were actually internally identical and from the same parent manufacturer.

Not all De Walt batteries are 20 Volt so you have too be careful as too which battery you use in Harbor Freight tools . Voltage matters.

So I'm sitting here watching this video and the tip comes up about turning a 5 gal bucket into a shop vac, and I say "Hey, I've done that", and then I realize that the subscriber comment you were showing was me... I've never had good luck with extracting systems on chop saws. I don't think they're really designed for an extractor is most of the sawdust just seems to shoot out around the opening lol. And I was wondering if that bucket filter would work with water?

Well I didn't say it was handy cause it didn't need power . It's compact and you don't have to pull out a cord then to it back up again and I have more than 1 smoker . I use to sell BBQ before KZbin. But I do like my pellet smoker for small cooks

Hey 👋 Catfish🫦👀.. gotta letcha know I had the old 18v dewalts from 2008 well, ya can't find them batteries so i bought one of them Dewalt adapters for the new 20v, I found out real quick that leaving the battery connected to the adapter connected to the tool, it would drain the battery in NO TIME brother. Experiment with one to see if it does with the HF adapter. I always unhook the battery when I'm finished with the tool I'm using it on.
