I'm lusting after this small lighting miracle! I don't have much light design experience however and wonder if $1800 is a bit much to spend on a new hobby. For now I picked up the Obey 40 and U'King 3d laser to see how things go. Great demo, thanks much!
@LearnLizard2 жыл бұрын
I think that U’King is a great little laser for the price and you can actually get it it to do a lot when paired with a small DMX controller. When you’re ready to lay down the $ you can’t beat a LaserCube. They are fantastic little machines. Thanks for watching!

Steve sir, a PERFECT video for validating all my thoughts and battle plans for the use of this smaller cube until I can get the 2.5 wifi. Unless, do you know of any reliable sites with US shipping for used cubes without warranty?
@LearnLizard3 жыл бұрын
Hi Christopher- X-Laser.com is the US distributor for LaserCubes. You could check with them, but the newer WIFI Cubes are the only ones that are available new that I am aware of. Not sure about used ones. Really appreciate you watching!

Excellent video Steve. QUESTION: when using the Harp function, is it possible to assign the output to a different sound besides the 3 stock sounds? Could I assign it to a soft synth in Ableton, for example? Thanks !
@LearnLizard3 жыл бұрын
Great question. You can configure LaserOS to output MIDI in the settings and the Harp app will output notes with a small glitch. When I last tried, after each note there was a "note on" message sent which basically made it unplayable except for certain percussive patches. I let the developer know and it may be fixed now, but I haven't tested. Appreciate you watching!

hey, never played with lasers much myself but always enjoy your videos! Have you ever done a video around safety around lasers? It seems like there's a real lack of clear information online and something like the lasercube seems like it could be extremely dangerous if used by someone who isn't either very confident or being very careful. Definitely doesn't help that ebay seems to have a lot of misleadingly labelled glasses.
@LearnLizard2 жыл бұрын
I think a laser safety video is a great idea. Totally agree with you that lasers when misused can be very dangerous. I also believe that safety regulations vary from country to country but the bottom line is to NEVER allow a laser beam (or a reflected beam) to directly hit your eye.

Hi, My name is Jim. I live on a lake with too many geese. Geese hate green laser light. I came across your videos and it looks to me a programed moving head with a green laser to pan my yard would be great to keep the geese away. Of course I know nothing about moving heads but I am mechanically inclined and am willing to learn. My goal is to program a moving head with a green laser beam to pan my yard, back and forth, forward and back for as little money as possible. Would you be kind enough to recommend a moving head and dmx controller that you think would work for this. Thanks so much for your help. P.S. I wand to mount this in the window and scan my waterfront yard which is about 60ft X 60ft
@LearnLizard3 жыл бұрын
Wow- thats certainly an interesting one! You can buy moving head lasers like this: amzn.to/3fA5i3O (although I don't have any experience with them) With an inexpensive controller you could program a chase that looped 2 scenes with the laser panned to the left and then right which would create a scanning effect. Many simpler lasers also have built in patterns and you might be able to find one that accomplished the same thing without a controller or the need to program it-- those poor geese!!

How do i get the laser beams so strong? Ive seen people do it with laserworld el 400rgb which i got aswell. Can someone tell me? I also got an dmx controller:)
@LearnLizard3 жыл бұрын
Part of the reason the beams look so good is because of the hazer. The more haze you can get in the room, the stronger they appear. Also, this particular laser isn't designed to be controlled by DMX (although you can use a 3rd part app to make it work) Appreciate you watching!

Hey Steve I’m in a band and have 8 par lights and an Amazon dmx controller but I can never get the dmx to work everytime I out the light in dmx mode and plug in the cables it either starts flashing or randomly fading through colors any help?
@LearnLizard3 жыл бұрын
Hi- It sounds to me like the light and controller aren't connecting. I would try getting just one of the lights to work for a start. Keep it simple and set both the light and controller to a starting address of 1. (make sure your cable is making a good connection) Make sure the light is really in DMX mode. (sometimes you have to hit enter after you access it in the menu) Try moving all the faders on your console until you see some response. It may be in auto mode which might need to be changed in one of the DMX channels. Good luck and hope that helps!

i have a doubt How we connect lights that have no adressing mode to dmx like the normal par lights that does not have a mode button or addressing screen.How can we loop all these lights?I Is thee any gadgets that have a option to dmx adress and sockets so that lights connected to that socket lights up when the address set on that gadget is signeled? Can you please do a video
@LearnLizard3 жыл бұрын
Hi- Yes, before there were modern DMX stage lights, people (like me) used to use regular lights connected to a DMX dimmer pack. You can see me demonstrate one in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5qnkpmwipmDlck Thanks for watching!

@LearnLizard2 жыл бұрын
The flickering gets really exaggerated in this video. It’s pretty hard to see in real life. Because Wicked Lasers is constantly updating and adding new features to their software I can see why they don’t want to always be updating their manual LOL! They are good at making and posting videos on their KZbin channel that explain most of the LaserCube functions. Thanks for watching
