Changing and flushing the coolant on the 1985 ford 1910 diesel tractor. As far as I know lots other 1000 series ford tractors will be a similar procedure to this. Ones off the top of my head are the 1210 and 1710 if memory serves me right. I used peak brand fleet charge sca precharged coolant to protect this tractor from future issues with cavitation.
Parts used to repair block drain:
Cap-3/8-in dia Galvanized Cap Fittings www.lowes.com/pd/Mueller-Prol...
Pipe-3/8-in dia Galvanized Nipple Fittings www.lowes.com/pd/Mueller-Prol...
Tap was 5/8” size 18 “fine” threads

I've used the Peak Fleet Charge sca coolant for 6yrs in a Gravely 260Z mower with a Dihatsiu 3 cyl. diesel motor. No problems with the product. Nice job on that awesome tractor bro.

Love your videos Avery! You have a chill vibe about you when working on your projects, and I'm on a binge mission to watch them all 👍 hang in there on the youtube marathon. Keep doing you and you'll be mentioned in the same line as Diesel Creek, Jesse Muller and Andrew Camerata. Who knows, might not be your goal. But it's a compliment to both your content and video style :)

Watching your videos gave me inspiration to buy an old Ford and fix it up. I found a rust bucket Ford 1920 full of black widows, and rebuilt it. Your videos are helpful and well done. I like the ingenuity as well. Keep them coming

@@averybryant Yeah it was an adventure finding parts, or fabricating parts when none were available. I have a build thread here if you're interested. www.tractorforum.com/threads/ford-1920-restoration.46163/#post-320635 Definitly was an adventure.. PTO shaft from Australia, and hydraulic cylinders from the Ukraine. Crazy.. I learned a lot though.

That would be awesome. Open a tractor wrecking/junk yard. There's good business selling used parts.

You can use comet or Ajax in the cooling system to scrub as a flush. Best to use distilled water as even tap or well water as a flush has lot of minerals in it. Remember “ the solution to pollution is dilution “ so the sooner you start introducing distilled water the better. That final charge stuff is a good. The best coolant on the market according to the scientist in Cats sampling lab in Peoria IL is Chevron Delo coolant. ( unofficial since cat has their own brand )

Great tips, im sure this wont be the last piece of equipment that will need a coolant flush so ill give the ajax a shot and that delo stuff if i can find it locally

Hey Welcome to the 1910 Club, great job on the resurrection. Mine is turning 1600 hrs and has been a great partner here in Colorado. Any information on the injection pump oil change or service would be a big help. Thanks again Bsafe

Thanks for watching. The 1910s share the engine oil to the injection pump and does not have to be changed separately like some others models do

Curious about the fuel pumps on these as well. I’ve read a few places that you have to oil them periodically. You ever do that?

I tried to find a replacement part number for the valve but I couldn’t. There are several 3/8” valves on Amazon that could work but your solution should be good as well, especially since the coolant isn’t changed very often. Thank you for doing this video as I’m sure it will help someone with their tractor in the future. Keep up the good work.

For sure man thanks for watching. I was able to find a couple replacement parts but they were pricey or would take too long to get here. This was a couple bucks and was able to get me going same day
