In the video, we learn about the general structure and operating principle of one of the subsystems of a car engine - the engine cooling system. The video briefly explains the cooling jacket, coolant pump (water pump), cooling radiator, expansion tank, thermostat, heater radiator (heater core), engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT sensor), and coolant - in a vechle.

Maybe how the air conditioning system in a car works...I know it has its own piston and radiator but like do they share the same radiator with the coolent?

Make videos of crisp clarity like you uploaded previously is fantastic🤘😝🤘. Next topic of car information are 1. Automatic Car Air Conditioning with difference from manual air conditioning. 2. Antilock Break system working latest technology used by auto companies. 3. Electronic Control Unit working in depth with how to identify fault using scannar codes. 4. Automated Driver Assist System working with practical video of actual work via animation shown.

Whenever I heard a car needs a new thermostat I never knew it was an actual device that regulated the amount of coolant moving in the system. I just thought it was a sensor or something. Learned a lot from this video

Great content! So much easier to completely understand using the 3D animation. I always thought the thermostat was either completely open/closed. I didn't realize that it could run half open and use both loops.

It's actually necessary. Otherwise you'd be switching from hot coolant to cold coolant instantly. Shocking and warping the metal.

Here in Uganda 🇺🇬 East Africa, we have witnessed a practice where the thermostat is completely removed for the engine to operate normally, in most cases due to high temperatures in the region, a car that maintains it will be heating up often. But once it removed, the car will operate normally. 😅😢

Removing thermostat is a bad idea engine has a specific temperature to operate efficiently that's the job of thermostat by adjusting the temperature that is perfect for the engine..

I work in food delivery and the a/c on my vehicle is prone to go out during my shifts in the summer unless i hose the radiator down with water from a hose. The a/c repairman i talked to told me it's likely that the coolant is operating over pressure since it's so hot outside (over 100 daily, averaging 106) and by watering the radiator i'm allowing it to cycle properly again. He said i could actually try releasing some of the refrigerant to prevent it from getting over pressurized but i'm not sure, and that requires special containers that i don't have. Is there truth in this? I figured since the a/c was going out and the radiators job was to dissipate heat that it wasn't dissipating heat well enough, and figured if the vehicle can drive through rain, that a water hose to kinda flash cool the radiator couldnt hurt too much. The belt squeaks a bit when i do this but i can keep my a/c running at least a little bit throughout my shift like this which is better than not at all... a cab temp of 85 is much preferred to a cab temp of 115... am i potentially doing engine damage? If hosing the radiator down makes it too cold it should bypass the radiator using the thermostat and bypass valve to maintain proper operating temperature correct? Would a weak or non functioning fan make the overheating problems worse?

Thermostats usually are at the highest point on the engine and open to allow hot coolant to go to the top of the radiator. The hot coolant causes the wax in the thermostat to melt and allow the spring to push the thermostat open. Thus, the mechanism of the thermostat must be in the hot coolant. Illustration at (5:30) shows the bypass (short circuit) coolant to cover the wax unit. What car is illustrated here that thermostat is at the output of the radiator? Thanks.
