@@2carpros I looked at that area and couldn't find. I understand it is somewhere around the oil pan. Is it more to the front, to the back, to the side of transmission, to the side of passenger wheel? I saw one bolt (same as bolts which are attaching the oil pan, #10mm), it is located higher than the oil pan bolts, very hard to reach, maybe w/a deep socket. I didn't try yet, but afraid it might be the wrong bolt.

Ok what if my heater core hose broke last night and I only replaced that certain part would I still need to keep the cap off and wait till it reaches temp? It's raining and cold I waited 30-40 minutes and it stayed at the bigger line above 160 didn't go up till I capped it but now my oil gauge is going up to 80 as soon as I receive the engine what did I do wrong? Or what can I do to correct this??
@Shanonmcnab576
@Shanonmcnab576 3 жыл бұрын
You always keep the cap off with the engine running while filling. Oil pressure gauge has nothing to do with coolant hot and cold gauge. Oil pressure gauge could be faulty/ sending unit or you have too low of oil or you filled the oil up too high or something internally in your engine could be wrong or maybe you have an oil leak. Most of the time the sending units are faulty or theirs an oil leak. If your engine runs smooth and quiet it wouldn't be internal.

On a 2004 Tahoe, where EXACTLY can I find the drain plug? Your video zooms in too closely to the plug and because of that, I cannot determine if it is on the center, driver side, or passenger side of the radiator.

Thanks for your effort in making this.Not sure if this is the same on other GMC models as I am searching to find this flush for my Denali Yukon XL. I lose my orientation when you show the "Drain Plug" at the bottom of radiator. Would be good to either zoom in from a rough full view of car, to the location or at least say if it is located in Passenger or Driver side/ on the bottom or side wall of radiator, or any other obvious reference. Also is there a problem if you make the 50 / 50 dilution in a separate container and add it when mixed and in correct dilution? The way radiator is to be filled or air trap to be removed, is not well discussed / shown here.As most YT clips, a higher level of sound would be nice and your video quality is much superior to most. Thanks again.
@2carpros
@2carpros 7 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that! It is on the driver's side at the bottom of the radiator! It will be the same for GMC models. You can dilute your coolant mixture in a bucket or something and pour it in yes, as long as you get the mix correct. As long as you fill it to the line in the reservoir, start the engine, the amount will drop just add some till you get to the line. Let the engine warm up and just keep adding when you notice it is dropping you should be good. An other good idea is to keep checking it over the next couple days all the air pockets will have worked their way out by then. Thank you so much for watching!

Some don't have it. I just discovered my 05 Suburban doesn't. It can be messy, but remove lower radiator hose to drain. Question: I'm swapping out distilled water for antifreeze due to the onset of cold weather. I just got the Yukon and changed the radiator about 2 weeks later when it sprung a leak, kind of kicking myself for not just putting antifreeze in back then, but it had really old dex fluid in there and I wanted to flush it out before I put regular in. I've heard running bad dex in there for long enough can actually crack your head. I've got my reservoir full of antifreeze and I'm about to drain enough out of the radiator to concentrate up, but the car never actually seems to get to 200F so I'm wondering if the thermostat ever actually opens to let the antifreeze circulate through the engine. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
