Thanks for that. The fan on this 2019 ZR900 we got in LaMarque TX has never come on to my knowledge. It runs hot. And we hope to get the temp down with Water Wetter or one of the chemicals that changes the surface tension in the coolant.

There is a bolt near the headers in front and you can still get a lot of old coolant from there. So basicaly you mixed the green and blue coolant because you did not flush all the old coolant.

Good video & thank you for this. Agreed, there is nothing else on KZbin or my z900 rs owners forum. I have the ‘19 z900rs cafe & am going to attempt to do it myself. One thing I did learn in addition; there is a 10mm hex bolt behind the exhaust headers on the front of the engine that drains coolant directly from the engine block, too. Easy to access & remove. I’m going to refill with Zerex G05 HOAT. Can’t find what Kawasaki specs but I believe this should be fine?

I think you should be good. Never heard Of Zerex but if it’s moto antifreeze you should be okay.

Thanks. I do have Z900RS CAFE. Just got it a month ago. Helpfull info. Btw,to drain the expansion canister,i have a 16 oz. syringe with rubber line to service the brake and power steering systems in a car. Just put the line in via filler plug and take it out. Question: is 600 mi. service is dealer mandatory to keep the warranty happy,or you can do it your self? Also,in my OM there is no oil change interval. What’s the recommended one?

Dealer has no say in the warranty outright. In the states, the Kawasaki (and other brands) dealer is not Kawasaki. They are a representative that is allowed by Kawasaki to sell their bikes and are trusted to service them. So when an engine blows and a tech tears it down they are trusted to provide an accurate assessment of the damage. That info is sent to Kawasaki - Kawasaki reviews the damage assessment - and all the Japs have tested numerous engines to failure (all that data is in pictures and damage assessment records) - They can be shown a picture of the damaged part and be able to say exactly what went wrong and how. They will know when you fucked up, or they did. Here's the thing - if it comes down to they're skeptical of proper servicing - they will want to see receipts. They just want some modicum of proof you have been taking care of the engine. You can do the 600 mile oil change and every other bit of servicing yourself - Just keep the receipts in case a warranty issue comes up. Your OM should have the service interval in there - page 113. You can even look it up online.

Hey man i just got a new 2023 z900. I was wondering where i add coolant or if i do. The coolant reservoir under the seat says its almost low. Do i need to put more in it or do i add it in the actual radiator in the front? Or do i need to add at all? Im not sure of the function of the reservoir under the gas tank.

If it's boiling u prob should replace it, the coolant lost it's "magic"

Downloading the OEM Kawasaki service manual is illegal. Dont be a chump, pony up the bucks and buy it. Looks like Kawaski fixed this loop hole. Its only $80. How did you get the fluid out of the engine? There has to be lots of channels for coolant to flow. They are still full of old antifreeze.
