If you do consider a new pack, look at the Osprey Exos (38L 48L 58L) it cost me around 150euros but its been so amazing. I have a 48L perfect for over night hikes, day hikes and the back suspension stops a sweaty back. Its Super light as well. Yes in retrospect I would have got an Osprey Exos. I like the stretchy pocket on the front which the Fjallraven doesn't have. The main reason I bought it was because it is my favourite colour, a terrible reason to buy a backpack, but I think it is a great pack. Luckily I got it on sale from a place in the UK called Trekkit which seems to do backpacks about half the price of everywhere else.

I find that rain and mud is a big problem with walks at this time of year. What would you do if that tree fell and you got trapped underneath it and your phone had run out of battery?

I think the black boxes on the trees are beacons that send out a signal to a particular app that you install on your phone.

I thought Tennyson lived at Freshwater on the Island, near to Tennyson Down and used to go in the Vine Inn and drink himself senseless on Saturday nights (and sometimes Friday too)
