It's a nice idea, but the co-ramblers would have to be strictly vetted to make sure they 1) could handle spotters competition without it getting nasty, 2) walk at exactly 2mph on average, 3) are not Martin Simon, 4) would bring their own strawberry laces and not expect a share of the 'official' lunch, and 5) are definitely not British scenery/comedy obsessed serial killers.

Yaay! A new video! 😁 That painting you did was ace! Hehe, Wetherspoons do the job and are fine as long as you don't get hassled by the local 'character'. That's what happens around my way anyway. I remember taking one of my service users to a local Wethers for breakfast and a fight broke out between two very pissed people. I was quite impressed seeing as it was 10:30am. Aaanyway, when it comes to the era that I would like to have lived in, I wouldn't go back very far at all. I wish I'd been born about 15 years earlier so that I could have been a teen in the late 70s/early 80s. The music and fashions back then were so good. As for the how the world will end, I just hope it's quick. Looking forward to the next bit of your walk.
@cdwc

I agree with you the late 70s and early 80s are the most appealing to my sensibilities too. As for the Wetherspoons, there were a few sketchy characters there already at about 10am. I think that is pretty typical.

A very "fine" start to the walk indeed Cool Dude. Some real results there with the spoons and Little Miss Latte popping up at the perfect moments. Churches sometimes have water available for walkers or pilgrims although it's not as consistent as I would like it. Anyway, the question about what period of history I would want to live in is a good one and one I've considered a lot liking history as much as I do. I think there's a difference between wanting to go back and observe life for a day or two compared to living in it. I'm fascinated with medieval history and would love to visit for a couple of days but I think living it would be terrible unless you were in the upper classes. I may go with Georgian London for living as it must have been pretty fun and wild. Lastly, I really liked your painting cool dude. Lovely movement in the wheat field. 1x Marek for this leg. Great walk. To answer your question of the day though it would mean I would have a much lower life expectancy if I had to choose one historical era to live in it would be the American Wild West. It is the Elveden War Memorial. I love that stretch of road. There is something magical about it. All the tall pine trees and the memorial. Here is some more information, about the War Memorial I took from Wikipedia. The Elveden War Memorial is a war memorial initially erected to the First World War dead. It is situated at the meeting of the three parishes of Eriswell, Icklingham and Elveden to which the monument honours. It is a Corinthian column 127 feet (39 m) tall, made of Weldon Stone and surmounted by an urn of Portland stone. Edward Cecil Guinness, owner of Elveden, commissioned the architect Clyde Francis Young to design and build the column, which took 2 years to erect and was completed in 1921. It was listed in 1954 and is now a Grade II* listed structure.

I was reassured that Carlos has your back in that way, he seems like a real gem. Thank you once again for the dizzying highs and terrifying lows, before your walking vids I would have to take an expensive day trip to Alton Towers for a similar experience. There are lots of times I'd love to go back to, but all with massive qualifiers - I'd love to be a bright young thing in the 20s/in my late teens in the 60s, see the industrial revolution, see the religious turmoil of the 16th/17th c., Saxon Britain, before Doggerland got flooded. Great videos, thanks Marek. I especially like the history and nature information you interweave into them. I keep thinking how funny your videos would be if you did them visiting the sh*t places school kids are taken on trips to, such as a bobbin factory. But then you’d have to visit sh*t places. So don’t do that. It’s a terrible idea. …Thanks

In Australia 31 degree would be a quite nice early spring day or a cool summer day. Western Australian got a 50.7 last year… just saying. I think I’d have been interested in being born in year zero. You could check out stuff like is this Jesus character actually real and if so get a couple of miracles. You could wear a sheet and thongs all day. And it would be so much easier to fill in your birthday 00/00/0.

50 degrees!!!!! I would need to wear two hats. I expect it would be a bit of an anti-climax meeting Jesus after all the hype.

@@cdwc I’ve since thought about my year zero birthday… it couldn’t be 00/00/0. It would be a 1-31/1-12/then 0. Just clarifying that in case it happens. I’d hate to not have a birthday because 2022 me got over excited by 0’s. How hot it feels depends on humidity I think. For example NZ 25-30 degrees feels quite hot in summer because the humidity is usually nearing 75-100%. But same temperature in Australia would be quite a cold day because humidity is low.

You could just take over the world. Then reset the calendar to zero, zero, zero from your birthday. This would be easier than travelling back in time.

@@cdwc something is telling me mathematically there can’t be a 00/00/0 even by royal Vanessa order. Surely even day 1 is 1 not zero. Also month 1 is 1 not zero. So year 0 is the 1st year not zero. So it’s really 01/01/01. Isn’t it? Or am I over thinking this…. This is exactly why I don’t smoke drugs.

Plague, war, robots so many options. As for happiness I was just wondering if there was less to worry about being a Roman. They probably just worried about different things.

£5.55 is an unusual price for a not so healthy breakfast Period of History - I'd like to have been Boudicca's right hand woman. What a brave, ferocious warrior Queen she was. (I could've learnt a lot from her!). Enyas Boadicea's chilling music (different spelling again) kinda sums it up what it must've been like back in the day. Worlds End - My crystal ball prediction = Apocalyptic event, not sure what tho. I shall be riding my Boardman bike off into the Sunset, if & when it happens!🚴🌞 Good luck to Carlos on his new KZbin channel!

Looks like a super cool walk, other than temperature obv! 🌡🔥 but up there with the best walks I think ☺️ Love all that ancient Britain/Roman empire type stuff... tho don’t think I’d wanna live back then, I’d probably not even survive a single day! You might think I’m from Boringland, but I’d happily just go back and do the nineties again... the good old days lol 😆 Looking forward to seeing the rest of your walk - Stay cool, literally! 😎🧊☀️
