The difference between the regular haf xb and the haf xb evo is that the evo holds 4 3.5 hdd while the regular xb only holds 2 3.5 hdd but u can also convert a 5.25 bay into another 3.5 hdd bay

I have the HAF XB EVO (RC-902XB-KKN2). Have had it for ~7 years. I have performed many, many builds. The HAF XB EVO is the best case I ever had. I have no idea why CoolerMaster ever discontinued it; the case was wildly popular in its day. The only problem -- and it isn't even much of a problem -- is that the top panel (I have the mesh version) won't actually support installation of a 200mm fan as advertised because a) the screw hole mounting configuration doesn't match anything on the market, and b) an internally mounted fan would not permit enough clearance for any standard sized GPU with attached power cables. ... Nor would it support such a fan installation with that massive CPU cooling tower you have in your video. Notwithstanding, this is the best case I've ever used. CoolerMaster made a bad decision when it took this out of its product line.

Thanks for the insight! The top I found out is for the mounting of a radiator, that's why it doesn't fit any fan.

@@T3GMedia Thanks for your comment. The mounting dimensions make more sense that way. Of course, it would seem that mounting a radiator with the necessary fans would reduce headroom for GPU's and CPU fans even more, would it not?

@@meisterpatch849 the rad would take the place of the CPU cooler and it should have plenty of space for the GPU.

@@T3GMedia HA! Brain fart. Of course it would take the place of the CPU fan (plants palm firmly on forehead). As for headroom on the GPU, however, have you mounted a radiator with fans there? What kind of space do you have for GPU power cables when doing so? Any photos of the setup with the side panels removed? I'd really like to see that. Thanks.

Can you put an H115i on the front of this case? PS: It sure would be nice if they had a top that accepted 280mm coolers like H115i.

+max bootstrap The front will support up to a 240mm rad. It will take 2 140mm fans though.

I guess you're saying a 280mm radiator will not fit in front. Okay, thanks! Looks like I made the right choice... I ordered four Thermaltake core x5 cases yesterday... and they already shipped. Turns out they have a $30 rebate during March (this month), so I'm only paying $100 each. But had to order in 4 different names, addresses and credit cards to get the $30 rebates on all of them... hahaha. PS: I really, really, really like that HAF XB EVO case in many ways. Ultimately the few minor negatives added up and made the core X5 better for me (at least in theory, so far). The minor negatives? #1: Lots of open holes without filters, which probably means lots more dust inside. #2: Badly designed top, that should have supported 280mm radiators and other fan configurations. #3: Not deep enough by just a tiny bit. In fact, the case would be much better if extended 1" in width, depth and possibly height. At least depth. #4: Ditch the hot swap! Seems like hundreds of people lost two disk drives and all their data due to unreliable hot swap card and/or the fact the key in the power receptacle does not protrude inward enough, and thus does not prevent inserting the power plug backwards. #5: Certain portions of the innards likely don't get good airflow. I'd say if you were trying to use the top 240mm for the radiator, no. But if you have your cooling arranged right, I could see that being done. The feet should keep it above the rad space at the top.
