Can you test the rev 2.0 of P12 Max with FDB bearing ???
@ThermalLeft
@ThermalLeft 4 ай бұрын
Yes, recording P12 Max with a rifle bearing is one of the next plan. Thanks for the suggestion!

would be great to know your opinion on Arctic P14 MAX that just got released! do you think Arctic fixed the humming noise issue this time?

Thank's for the update. I have not deal with P14 Max yet due to my job. I'll remember P14 Max for the future records!

Wondering if this has been added to the noise data on your excel?

The noise-normalized airflow rate and maximum noise level of this fan may had been recorded somewhere in my spreadsheets. But I didn't recorded the entire noise (dBA) - PWM (%) curves for any fans. Thank you for the feedback.

can you test Inter-Tech DFG12038B12DN 120 mm Fan ?

Thanks for the suggestion. Industrial fans are also one of my main interests! I can't find any direct dealer of fans of Inter-Tech Elektronik Handels fans in my region, but I can deal with the similar product which seems to be made by the same original manufacturer. (Delta QFR1212GHE) I'll recorded in the future after I get some more high speed fans.

I have Klim cooling pad for my gaming laptop very effective but makes crazy noise :( I was hoping a gaming PC can be made silent doesn’t seems to be the case. Can you recommend some works arounds to make klim cooling pad to be made less noisy.
@ThermalLeft
@ThermalLeft 4 ай бұрын
Fans of cooling pad usually don't have an additional effect to enhance thermals compared to just making an enough clearance between a laptop and a desk. How about using erasers or small books to make a space?

Shouldn't the rubber pins be installed the other way round?

I just tried what you suggested and I recognized that it fixes the fan more tightly. But there is no change in motor noise. Thanks!

Will at 1800 rpm the cooler master be louder then the phanteks @ 1800rpm?
@ThermalLeft
@ThermalLeft 3 ай бұрын
When Mobius 120 OC and PH-F120T30 are operated at a same speed, Mobius 120 OC will be quieter and have lower airflow rate than PH-F120T30.

Do you have mobius 120p/120 or 140p to test ?
@ThermalLeft
@ThermalLeft 5 ай бұрын
Yes, I have Mobius 120P and 140P now. You can see the noise comparison of Mobius 120P from here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioK5lqaFdrh-etEsi=k9nauPZURNThirXl And Mobius 140P will be recorded later.

These fans move probably a ton of air, but damn is the buzzing sound irritating.
@ThermalLeft
@ThermalLeft 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, maximum airflow through radiator is very large as Arctic P12 Max and Silent Wings Pro 4, but with more maximum noise. ..And the noise from a motor is similar with that of EVGA CLC stock fan. Compared to other expensive products, it has more disadvantages in terms of noise. So I usually don't recommend Mobius 120 OC, unlike Mobius 120, 120P and 140P.

Is this noisier at max RPM than the Phanteks T30? What would you say is the quietest 3000 RPM 120mm fan?
@ThermalLeft
@ThermalLeft 5 ай бұрын
Yes, Mobius 120 OC is noiser than PH-F120T30 at maximum speed(~3000RPM) but lower air volume. And at 3000RPM, Noise level: PH-F120T30 = P12 Max < TL-B12 EXTREM < Mobius 120 OC < NF-F12 iPPC-3000 Air volume: NF-F12 iPPC-3000 >= PH-F120T30 = P12 Max = TL-B12 EXTREM > Mobius 120 OC But please note that the above comparison does not match with the comparison for low~mid speeds.

@ThermalLeft Thanks. Would you say this translates to the subjective perception of the measured noise levels as well? Is there one with a more pleasant, less annoying pitch at full RPM? In the video bellow the Mobius OC seemed the quietest compared to the SW4 Pro and the T30. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6fZYomahdKogtksi=RXsbekCAyWu7XWAk
@ThermalLeft
@ThermalLeft 5 ай бұрын
@@clearlight293 Of course not. Noise level can't include information about subjective perception(a.k.a. noise profile). For second question, please read the explanations below Mobius 120 OC can make pleasant noise when it is not mounted on a case. I've also checked the phenomenon like the video by excluding a computer case. (Of course, it is unrealistic scenario for real-world users though.) But once Mobius 120 OC is mounted on a chassis or on radiator/heatsink which is already mounted on a case, it mostly has more annoying noise profile due to motor noise than PH-F120T30 and SW Pro 4. Although I offered the above comparison for maximum sound pressure level, I can't say that Mobius 120 OC has obviously better noise profile than others I mentioned for most applications.
