This was the case I used for my first gaming PC build back in 2014. It's still hanging in there after traveling back and forth between college dorms and apartments for years. The dust covers are actually very good and after over 6 years of use my internals have very little dust build up.

This is quite frankly one of the most underrated and practical cases out there. Couple of things I love about this case is the epic side panel, that has a dual 120mm fan option as well as being transparent where it matters. I have a CM Hyper 412S with red LEDs, MSI970 Gaming Mobo, MSI GTX970 4G Gaming gfx card and it looks pretty neat from the side panel. I can clearly see the gfx card LEDs as well, have mine in the 2nd and 3rd PCIe slot on the case. I only thing I don't like about the case is the idiotic top fan cover that has 6 clips, which just totally destroys any chance of installing a dual 120mm radiator with the cover on. :/ I wish they would've used a magnetic top mesh instead of the clip press-fit cover AND INCLUDE an actual dust filter mesh instead of the holes on the cover. Perhaps I'll get an aftermarket one.

I actually bought a white CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced before watching this video. I've watched this over and over again and I don't have regrets. Though the non-removable part of the HD cage sucks though.

3:45 Seems like those holes could be widened up a bit horizontally (removing the space between them) with a metal-cutting saw for better airflow without compromising functionality or structural integrity of the cage.

This case has a white powder-coat which adds to the cost. It cost me $65 to powder coat my original scout to a white color. I personally enjoyed having it in their line of products even if it only cost me $10 more to buy :)

The styling is not to my taste, but I do like a case with plenty of cooling potential like this one, and of course with dust filters! which is a great selling point in my view. More cases should have them.

I've got 3 builds in this case for last 5 years. And it is still looks like new. I guess i will save some money and keep it for next few years at least.

I really do not like the case, but that might also be because of how it was put together with the parts. It's a dust eater with the powersupply fan at the bottom of the case (might be due to the powersupply itself). it has several dust filters though, but taking them off is not an easy task.
@GTexperience_Channel
@GTexperience_Channel 3 жыл бұрын
I feel like mostly when I bought the pc the guy who put it together made the case pull air from the bottom (powersupply) and push air out near the cpu. creating a lower pressure inside the case.

I agree partially, I Personally prefer a bigger window rather than extra fans but I have a Corsair C70 and having fan grills ON the window taking up half the space and this is even worse than my case.

You can actually fit some dual 120mm Rads in a push configuration by removing the top grille and having the radiator mounted on top.

The reason that they don't remove the drive cage completely is because the steel bracket adds a crap ton to structural strength.

The X58 motherboard is a pretty large motherboard, enough to be the same size as an X79 motherboard, if not larger. And because of that, there's really no reason to upgrade. It's not meant to show off hardware, just the case itself. As a case review that, showing us just how much hardware you can put inside it is enough.

How much smaller is this case compared to the Storm Trooper? I'm considering a smaller case because I'm finding the Trooper a bit too big.

I said there is no need for USB2.0 ports anymore with cases, as USB3.0 are backwards compatible, so giving us only USB3.0 would suffice for anyone's needs.

I have the black version of this case and it does the job but if you are planning on getting this case don't get it. The reasons are one, as the video pointed out there is only a few mobo's that will fit with a 240 rad and secondly the case weights so much its not even funny

I know, it's silly, i really love this case and want to get it, but i dont like the really small window on the side panel. Is there a way to get custom panels for this one with a bigger window? I cant find any, and i did a google search.
@tqexplosion
@tqexplosion 10 жыл бұрын
i know i have the same issue with mine :( i don't know if anyone sells full windows panels. Might have to do a custom job. Shouldn't be too difficult, just have to cut out the side fan grill and the included side perspex panel and then glue in a larger piece of perspex sheet to cover the hole.

Wrong. The white comes only in the "advanced" configuration, whilst the black and gunmetal comes in "advanced", "N2" and standard configurations. The standard version comes with only a PSU dust filter + rear 120 LED on/off fan. The N2 has a PSU filter + rear 120 black fan & front 120 LED on/off fan. The advanced comes with PSU & bottom front 120 dust filters + rear 120 black fan and 2 front 120 LED on/off fans. I wish professional reviewers would do proper research to give accurate info...

Hey guys, I kinda need help. Soo, I am building a nice mid-tower PC that costs around 1.3k. I don't want a full tower because I really don't like big PC's and I'm a kind of an on-the-go gamer. So I don't know if I should get this case or the HAF XM. some of my parts (Mostly my GPU) needs high air flow so the HAF XM is perfect for them, but it is too difficult for me to carry it around because I go to alot of lan party's. Any suggestions?
