I of course, watch KZbin and get tips, My son and daughter in law bought me a stack of adult coloring book with the colored pencils that I color in, I read my bible and devotional books, I have one bedroom(I live in a 2 bedroom apartment) that is sorta of a small library, exercise room /office that I putter around in. I watch movies occasionally. But, that’s how I save money and enjoy my time.

During colder weather i go thru each room starting with the ceiling and detail clean each room in my house including the basement. Do Minor fix myself or repair as i go thus saving money before it becomes a major expense. If I come across something needs replaced thats more costly I wrote it down and save for it to avoid debt. When i have the money i then take care of it. By doing this i have avoided many things coming at once, I'm able to get by with 1 or 2 items a year to keep my house nice. Sometimes its furniture or a appliance, new mattress, paint job etc... keeps me from getting bored in the winter month's take a small break between each room, cook extra foods and freeze it for quick meals, work a puzzle, take a relax day watch a movie. Then go on to next room. Time I'm done i ready for spring time and can go out and start some outdoor chores weather permitting. Time goes quicker during the winter im staying in and saving $ also

At the end of the week, I make OOF soup (out of fridge)…I check out all my leftovers…put those together that work well and use chicken, beef or tomato stock…I’ve even added stuffing to a soup…it was one of my best…Yes, soups are easy, smell good cooking and are “cozy” makers!

Sounds like what I do, but i call it Stoup...a cross between stew and soup. Growing up, we heated our home with wood, and we kept a 'bottom-less' soup going on that wood stove. All the leftovers would go in that pot. It was delicious. That stove was always going strong, so hot soup was always available when we needed a snack.

Use the Library online services - take out audiobooks and ebooks, listen to the audiobooks while cooking, decluttering, working on crafts etc. Also saves on overdue fees as books auto-return when due, with notifications a few days before to alert to finish them.

Jennifer - the AC maintenance is easy to do yourself, just KZbin a video, even changing a capacitor, if it goes out. When we have to get a professional to do a repair, we ask questions and watch them repair it, so we can do it ourselves if it comes up again. Save that money and diy!! I enjoy your videos, thank you!

I make chili, vegetable soup, and lentil sloppy Joe’s in bulk and freeze. By doing so, I can get somewhere between 12 and 20 meals. I also buy meat in bulk and repackage in individual portions. This works well as I am a widow, and I’m not eating the same thing every day. I wrap up in a fleece blanket or afghan when it’s chilly out.

I live in Minnesota. My husband will auto start his car and let it run for 10 minutes! I make sure I'm ready to go, lunch packed, etc... then I auto start my car put my shoe/boots and coat on and go right out to the car. If I notice other cars outside with frost on the windows then I won't start my car until I get out there. Then scrape windows with car warming. I only have a short distance to go, I won't freeze to death! 😂

Good afternoon - Soup is my jam, I already have had several requests from the family now that the weather is changing. It is also so easy to pair soup with a warm sandwich, it doesn't have to be complicated, easy is usually less expensive too. Something I am working on, kind of a declutter saving money duo. I am going to repurpose some of our fall/winter décor. Going to make a few new wreaths and new displays out of what we have. So a good creative outlet and then move on the rest of what we don't use to someone else. Won't cost anything. Great video as always!

Each season has its charm, but the heat of summer in recent years has been a bit too much for me! That's why I look forward to fall - it brings an amazing variety of fruits and vegetables. My go-to soups are perfect for the season: tomato soup with homemade pasta, pumpkin soup (which I make alongside pumpkin muffins to use it all up in one go), leek soup with cream, potato soup with tarragon, and noodle soup loaded with veggies. I also love French onion soup, garlic soup, and all kinds of bone broths, especially with a side of homemade bread. Nothing beats the warmth and comfort of soups in the fall! 🍂🥣

Great tips! Years ago my mother bought us flannel sheets and we still use them in the winter. No getting into a cold bed. I personally don’t care for flannel pillow cases so I cut them up and made microwave heating pads stuffed with cheap rice from Costco. They are 100% cotton so no sparking. Also, we have a wood insert in our fireplace which heats our house really well and keeps the oil burning furnace from running. We have plenty of dead trees (splitting wood warms you twice!) to use. BUT if you have an insert or wood stove PLEASE only burn hard wood and clean your chimney at least once a year. We use a professional. Clean your gutters while you’re at it.

the wear more clothes one definitely for sure would make a huge difference on utility bills if you live in an area that charge an arm and leg for energy usage. Some ppl prefer to keep the house almost 80 degrees during winter so they can wear tshirt and shorts in the house. Sure, if they have half a mil income that's no problem, they do whatever pleases them. but when budget is tight and we want to save $$, that can help tremendously

Portion out and put in the freezer, they keep very well. Clothes? “Fast Fashion” has destroyed the quality of clothes, even those sold by high end retailers. I just don’t buy new clothes anymore, just take good care of the ones I have. Seasonal decorations? Just at Christmas, reusing the lovely ones I’ve collected and loved over the years.
