As a single person, purchasing an air fryer has been a money saver for me. While out running errands, instead of grabbing a fast food lunch, I tell myself that I can go home and throw “xxxxxx” in the air fryer, make a salad and have a healthy lunch ready in 15 minutes. I use my library’s ebook app on my iPad for reading free books. The reading options are endless.

Awesome tips. About 2 months ago I called our internet provider because a new provider began providing service in our town and I just shared about the flyer from the other provider and asked what could they do to match their new prices. The customer service rep actually said thank you for allowing us to keep your service. She worked with me to keep only the service I currently have, reduced it to the price of the new provider for one year and offered me 10 dollars off for auto pay...our new monthly bill for one year is $76.20 from $129. She told me to call a month or so before the one year period is up and they will negotiate again just to keep our service. Thank you so much for these awesome reminders and tips!

Well done, doing this works, I tell others and some of them actually bother to find out their service provider will give them a better deal. It never hurts to ask, does it? But some prefer not to find out - I find this really odd.

I NEVER have leftovers that get moldy. I cannot stand to throw food away, so i never do. My house is very organized and stays that way. My policy is, if i haven't used it in the last year, i don't need it. The main thing is to live below your means. I have never paid more than $40 for a smartphone. You have to live below your means. I'm on a fixed income and doing just fine with the inflation. I paid $800 for my car and i got my house as a foreclosure for $60k. I have no debt, except for my mortgage which is only $650 a month.

I have did a declutter that has given me a reset. I have seen the amount of items that I purchased that was a waste. It is better to have 3 shirts that fit well and look good than 10 that are ill fitting that you don’t like wearing. Do you need more than 3 shirts ,probably but you can make it on 3 shirts until you find more that are the right ones. It is nice to wear a ‘favorite’ every day.

Smart purchases that will save you money is a great idea. Yes, I would like to see that video. For me, it's all about thrift stores. Any time I need office or school supplies, for instance, I always head to my local Salvation Store first. I've found spiral ringed notebooks, reams of copier paper, even a huge three hole punch that's perfect for preparing manuscripts for a three ring notebook. Of course, I also purchase most of my clothes at thrift stores too. You'd be amazed at how many times the item still have their original tags on them! Picture frames, cooking utensils including pots and pans, even unique décor and art work are all available on a catch as catch can basis at thrift stores. PEACE

I have become a vegetarian because I now refuse to spend 25.00 for a cut of meat that will last 2 days. A word about “cluttered house, cluttered finances”. We have no debt except the car and the mortgage (which we’re overpaying), and we have a good level of savings. But our house looks like an explosion in a thrift shop. Why? Because I’m chronically disabled. My husband works full time, and also does all the cooking, cleaning, laundry and gardening. I’m lucky that I can work part time online, but about the only other stuff I can do is to hold my husband at the end of the day, stroke his hair and tell him how amazing he is. He can’t do more tidying or decluttering, and I can’t physically do it at all. Please don’t judge people, or make assumptions about their homes and finances, without knowing the whole story.

I agree! My finances are in the best shape they can be in when considering my pay. My house is a mess because post-depression cleaning is really hard and I can push my body only so hard before it quits. Many times, my body demands rest (I have a few chronic issues) if I’m going to be able to go to work every day. Mess never trumps hanging onto a job!

I just found you you popped up in my feed. I used to conduct homebuyer classes for women. I was a mortgage broker and I used to talk to them about budgeting and I gave them a budget form and I told them not to go absolutely crazy, but they could cut back their visits to Starbucks to maybe twice a week. And just look at the way they could cut out money right now to to either apply to debt or apply it to Down payment. And a lot of what you said I have said to my women. I even had them sell their expensive cars and get a cheaper car which would reduce their work their car payment by hundreds of dollars. So I do agree with everything you said I don’t buy food. I don’t follow trends. I make my own clothes, but I do have a fabric habit…

As a single retiree in the UK, I save on bills as follows: use Laptop at 35 watts instead of TV at 170 watts; cook using air fryer and microwave instead of hob and oven; in winter heat myself with an electric throw and leave the central heating off; swap to LED light bulbs; save on water bill by only showering once a week and only flushing loo when necessary; use bicycle or walk for short journeys; use charity shops (thrift stores) instead of buying new. "Make do and mend" is still good advice.

I WONT do this as it's far too easy to miss an email or put off looking at the email!! So my little tip is to have paper statements, it's easier to look at them, review your spending and then file them, so you can easily check what happened in a previous month! Hope this helps 🤗 Caroline

I don't look at my statements and immediately delete the emails (paper is a safety hazard). Instead, I check my mobile banking apps frequently to check transactions and to make sure the account is balancing. It also helps to see if they are pending transactions that shouldn't be there.

Great tips. One that has worked for me saving me lots of money is when buying any item from a small appliance to clothes or electronics, I monitor that item for 30 to 90 days depending on the retailer's return policy and if there is any change in price I go get a price adjustment from the retailer. By doing this I have effectively reduced the price of many necessary items by more than half the original price.

Everything you have said makes perfectly good sense. Thing is, is that people with bad habits generally can’t or won’t change-not unless they are forced to and often change is only temporary. So your tips really are for people who are basically headed in the right direction but need a little help. Lots of folks out there suffer with serious emotional issues and sadly aren’t smart enough to view your channel. Only intelligent people will. This is kinda ironic considering the folks that really don’t need much help are the same ones that seek it.

Your car will seem new to you and others. Continue to pay into a high yield savings account the monthly car payment. At yr 10 or longer of ownership buy a new or used car in cash. Keep the car for 10yrs., pay a monthly payment to your high yield savings account as though you have a 10yr payment. If the car cost $32,000/120 months=$267 each month. The rise in price over 10yrs should be covered by the interest you receive in your high yield savings account. The new paint job in yr 5 or 7 will keep the car fresh to you.

I just talked to my personal banker and, sure enough, they calculate the interest on that the same as they do for credit cards. HA! And there I was thinking I was so smart because I was paying off the overdraft protection (it's a form of personal loan) only once a month. Now I know it's best to pay a part of it off every week instead of waiting. Of course, the best bet is not to incur an overdraft in the first place and, yes, I am working on that but sometimes an expense comes up before I've had a chance to save up for it and, well . . .; you know what happens then. In the meantime, I'm always looking for ways to cut down on waste and save money as well as time. That's why I'm a happy subscriber to your channel. Please keep up the good work. Your tips are always useful. PEACE

Changing things up at home is my jam. Lol. Yes please. A vid on saving while you’re spending. 😬 I do a lot of changing up sofa covers, chair covers, pillow and table covers etc. (It’s prob Bcuz the cats trained me lol), moving furniture around or playing musical rooms with things etc. I also use things from thrift stores that aren’t made for the item. Such as a fabric tablecloth might be a chair cover and a blanket or sheet may be a sofa cover, etc. And then even those I may get half off or it’s a $.99 day item. It def fills up my need for the thrill of bargain hunting, not overspending and getting rid of boredom with my decor at home and firing up my creativity. And that would be my tip I guess. Only go thrifting on the mega deal days/discount days, etc. And limit it to once or twice a month and have a focus for each trip (such as one week clothing. Another week kitchen. Another week books/media, etc). Plus look for things there first that you need that you planned to buy at retail. You might get lucky. Lol.

You can get a phone for less than 100 bucks at WalMart. People don't need 1000 phones.. that's why the price won't go down... people keep paying the price

My husband and i both bought our smart phones for under $50. We rarely use the extra features except for maps and weather radar since we are certified severe weather spotters, which we don't need very often even in the summer months. Yes, the cheap phones can do just as much as expensive phones.

I am a 76 single female. I only choose to eat organic food. Organics are more expensive than your conventional. I didn’t realized I spend about $400.00 (even more some months) on groceries $ water!! I was shock when I decided to add up all my receipts for the month!!! SHOCK!!! I don’t know how to cut down because I am already on minimum purchase, only the bare basic but all organic from WholeFood, Trader Joe etc. I didn’t buy sugary or cakes, pastries or junk food ever. So what to do?

Ugh. Trends. Yes those low rise jeans, and crop tops and cargo trousers. I walk through clothing stores now, slightly laughing at all the young people who think these looks are new. It makes me feel old, but I do enjoy it.

Loved this video. Could you explain tip #1 again, in a different way? I'm understanding that 2 payments on credit card, per month, will what? Is this the same as making an extra payment on your mortgage each year? Sorry. I'm confused. Thanks so much.

Please everyone forgive the weird words popping into the messages that I write. I have a vision issue so I am dictating and sometimes the auto recorder just messes it up. I don’t buy processed food. Of course I buy food. Do shop the perimeter of the store with the exception of going to mineral water when it’s on sale.
