That looks so clean! Going to have to give this a try instead of my usual cardboard box with towels. About how many marines are you able to roughly able to fit per sheet?

I have to count but 50ish. And the repulsar tank fit if you can take the turret off.

In my hobby space I have a sheet of ferrous metal mounted to the wall and simply stick my in progress minis on it. Since I magnetize all of my minis. I will have to try this out for storage.

There are cheaper options. I looked at magnetic art boards and just plain old sheet metal. But both those options required cutting

@@CoolGuysWhoSitAtHome thats why I would prefer the tray, looks more clean.

Josh has another hack to use the magnetic sheets that are used to cover central AC/heat vents. They are really cheap and can be cut with scissors.

neat. i wouldn't have bothered with the screws though, the epoxy is more than enough to secure.

I did have one where the epoxy failed because of temperature.

GREAT video!!! I find my self humming your back ground music at work when things get a bit hecktic LOL! Just curious are you thinking the epoxy would separate in the cold weather? You blow me away at all the videos you do. I really need to get back on the horse but I don't have an editor program and Sue (my tec support staff) dosen't want to learn one LOL:)!!!!

Idk I hope not the fasteners are pretty good. You should never leave you minis in hot or cold places anyways if it is bad for the epoxy it’s abs for the paint and the glue.

Would more epoxy on the bottom not be strong enough to secure the tray? How is the weight, could you add another couple or would be too heavy for the handle?
@CoolGuysWhoSitAtHome
@CoolGuysWhoSitAtHome 2 жыл бұрын
Weight is great you could add more. Epoxy is fine. Just don’t let it freeze in your car.

WD-40 is not a lubricant. It stands for Water Displacing, and is a solvent for rust removal and cleaning mainly. It works similar to a lubricant because it cleans off rust and such. In the application you used it for, it basically did nothing. You’d want to use actual oil in that instance. I love the content but the audio really needs to be run through audacity for audio compression and balancing, it’s very inconsistent and has a lot of echo.

"WD-40" is abbreviated from the term "Water Displacement, 40th formula", suggesting it was the result of the 40th attempt to create the product. The spray, composed of various hydrocarbons, was originally designed to be used by Convair to protect the outer skin of the Atlas missile from rust and corrosion.

It is an oil aka hydrocarbon and is a lubricant and heat dispersion agent perfectly sufficient for such a small hole in thin gage metal.

@@CoolGuysWhoSitAtHome www.bladeforums.com/threads/wd-40-as-drilling-lubrication.1572023/ WD-40 is not a lubricant. It is a Water Displacement (WD) coating to prevent rust. Look for a dedicated drilling and tapping fluid like Tap Magic. I like the Sulphurated oil, especially for Titanium, but it is messy. If you break a tap in Titanium, you can dissolve it with battery acid. It's mostly kerosene.
@CoolGuysWhoSitAtHome

This is a pointless argument don’t use WD-40 if you don’t want to. There are specific cutting fluid oils you can by like tapping oil. But the oil that is called WD-40 is totally fine affordable, and accessible for this application. Again the main use of the WD 40 was to provide minimal lubrication and to catch the metal splinters. And it did both of those things swimmingly.

Dude use taping fluid it’s fine we are not tapping titanium here :)
