HEY! So this was a fun little video to stumble on today! Those Kvissle rails were my brainchild! Kinda crazy to see my desk show up in your video! :D I'm not much of a 3d designer, but I managed to whip those rails up and it's been fun to see how often they get downloaded. Glad you like them!

If you don't have a 3d printer or know anyone with one, a simple and pretty cheap method of expanding the rails is to buy vivarium runners for 4mm glass. You will have to cut them to size but the space in teh runners is 5mm so it will fit the trays from the Kvissle.

I'm using the Kvissle as well, I turned the tray with the tab inwards and glued a magnet to the tab so it sticks a little to the back of the kvissle and doesn't slide out from gravity if you don't keep it level.

Given how thin the metal appears wouldnt it bend on top to carry it in that way? I mean the idea of just using some straps is an option, of course.

To peel the cork off, put the trays in the oven at 200 F for 10 minutes. You can then pull the cork off in one sheet. Clean the residue with goo gone.
@saintsquelchАй бұрын
Pour IPA onto the cork which will absorb it pretty well, then leave for about an hour with another sheet ontop of it to slow evaporation, then the cork will just come off and leave behind the adhesive sheet which can be peeled off in one piece

I've done the cake sheet and the plastic bin with metal liner in the bottom (galvanised roof flashing works great and is cheap) and regular cookie sheets in mailer boxes. My current favorite is the boxes that bulk paper comes in, a local print shop regularly gives them out. They're exactly 12"x18"x4.5" on the inside nd I like how the top folds down over the bottom more than mailer style boxes. The Kvissle looks intriguing

Hey, Awesome video. I have 8 kvissels as part of my storage and transport setup. They fit perfectly in the detolf shelves as well to increase model count. I found a can cooler at a grocery store that they fit inside, I superglued a handle on the top of the kvissel to pull it out.

You must have huge biceps to carry that around. They're heavy! I was able to remove the cork slowly and carefully using hot water. Usually there is some leftover glue residue so I just got some very thin shelf paper to cover over it and its still very magnetic.

Swedish pronunciation: quiss-le (slightly drawn out s-sound, le as in lettuce). English pronunciation: quizzle (like drizzle, but with the harder ku-sound, not a ka-vizzle sound). 😁 Don't know if it's applicable to the US side of Ikea stores, but the Danish Ikea site says that this product is on the way out of their line-up.

@dustinroberson1865Ай бұрын
I may need to pick one of these up. My only issue, is that my nagash would require all shelves to be removed. If I bought one, I would need to run a center rail and cut the shelves in half. I think my black coach would cause issues as well. Being 10.5" long and over 5.5" tall, it wouldn't fit on a half shelf, and would take up half the height of the case. I may still pick one up and try to make it work though
@gaminggeek241Ай бұрын
If I were you, I would store the huge models in a plastic container by themselves (those cheap storage containers) and only use these for medium to small minis as you lose the advantage of having shelves.

@@gaminggeek241 Currently I'm using a Hart rolling tool cart (like milwaukees packout). I put a metal shelf in it on hinges. All of my smaller minis go on 3d printed trays (the bottom of the tray is thin enough for the magnets to stick to the metal shelf. I 3d printed a box for nagash so that he can lay down under the shelf. I was just trying to think of something smaller so that it doesn't take up so much space in the car. This shelf would work great for 1000pt.

I love my KVISSLE, the only flaw is indeed the tabs facing downwards when you flip the shelves over. It makes it so you can't pull out the shelf beneath if the minis reach the bottom of the tray above, because they'll bump the downward tab as you pull them out and just make a complete pile of mess. I actually have to take out one shelf at a time, starting from the top one, anytime I want a mini from the lower shelves. Very annoying. I also tried removing the cork and it was absolutely impossible, I ended up with a bent and scraped shelf.

Tablewar is really good quality, and while the initial expense is high, you can buy additional trays to store more minis than you carry with you, and it has adjustable rails as well. I really like the hard sided case AND the clear front window. However, the Kvissile is a great cheap option, and I like using it as my work-space minis. I can store minis in various stages on each level (This level is assembled, this one is primed, these are painted, these are based and varnished).

I like Miniature Market, but I probably wouldn’t want to take a bag with their branding on it to my local store. Some folks are a bit touchy at the idea of buying things from online retailers instead of the local guy. I’d try to find a big sticker or patch to cover that up - but that’s just me.
@Shadowknightneo3 ай бұрын
Then with all due respect you need to tell them to stay in their lane. It's your money, it's up to you how you spend it and unless someone is going to gift you a bag they have no right to say how you carry your minis. People buy things online because it's cheap AND quality. If it was cheap but rubbish you wouldn't have bought it. The LGS should either have to try to compete on price or quality of similar products.
