Good to know that you have great experience but looking for some help. I play for wedding ceremonies/cocktail hour usually 1.5 hours for about an average of 100 guests. Is this a lithium battery? And does it hold a charge or does it deteriorate in time? I have the Roland BA 300 but its way too heavy for walking long distance about 32 lbs. I'm looking for something smaller and it doesn't mention it has stereo.

@StarOasis26 I've only had it for 2 years, so I can't really judge its battery life yet. So far, the charge has remained consistent. They say 10 years on the battery.

An amazingly important question that neither Coolmusic nor any of the reviewers I've seen is: What do I do when the battery dies (i.e. can no longer be charged)? Older portable amps used standard sealed-lead-acid batteries (SLAs) that have been sold for decades and will probably be sold for decades to come. SLAs die after three years whether you use them or not. My old Crate Taxi amp, for example, makes replacement easy: unscrew a few screws, disconnect the standard battery connectors, take the old battery out, put the new one in, reconnect the connectors, screw the cabinet back together. My questions for Coolmusic, which are not answered in their manuals, are: 1) What specific batteries you use in your amps (exact models)? 2) Is the amp built in such a way that I can easily replace them? 3) Where I can buy replacement batteries? 4) What are the prospects for these batteries still being sold many years or even decades from now?

Thanks for the excellent review Mundo. The orientation versatility has me captivated. Rechargeable portability lets me be free. Still confused by the Bass Boost switch advertised amongst the specifications by coolmusic. Have you tried pulling on any of the knobs? What is the Bass response really like?? Was that a attenuation switch I saw next too the Line out volume knob? Please excuse all the questions. I'm making a investment in my future and taking everything into consideration. It sure sounds alot like the clean sound of a Street EX but without that digital processing quality audio. Seems like a excellent Keyboard and Vocal amp perfect for busking or Mob Flash events.

You get what you pay for with cheap amps! Main thing I'd be concerned about is the lithium polymer batteries they use? They're not readily available at just any store and have care/ storage requirements. I won't go into details here, but if you buy this amp i would use Google to find out battery care/storage requirements for these batteries and find out how this manufacturer addresses those issues? Just a thought??
@My2be4u3 ай бұрын
Yes, this is the same concern I have. I almost bought this amp, but I was on the fence because of the battery issue. The fact is that rechargeable batteries need to be replaced overtime. And if there is no way to replace the battery then this product is a disposable product. You use it until the battery dies and then trash. I emailed coolmusic about this issue and they didn’t respond to me and I’ve searched all over the Internet trying to answer this question. I ended up getting a battery powered amp that had specific directions and readily available replaceable rechargeable batteries. Buyer beware.

I have a Roland street EX. I love what it is, it’s a great portable PA and an OK amp. The problem is the premium price. The Roland does have its flaws. 1. No Bluetooth 2. Price 3. Mediocre amp sims, uses old COSM not Katana or boss GT tones. 4. No D.I for recording. I always said to myself if someone made a less pricy portable PA that meets the specs as the Roland streets, ha someone just did. Roland just released a gen 2 of Roland street cubes, they don’t include BT, so all the deep editing can’t be accessed, and nothing else was upgraded not even the guitar tones, they have a katana and a boss gt tones would have been an upgrade, and yet they still raised the price of a 12yr old reboot, not impressed Roland’s value additions. This unit seems like it will be my second portable PA, now I will have a stereo set up with $ to spare. I’ve been waiting for a second CUBe, but this is perfect. Thanks

Need another two battery powered amps for a quad surround immersive effect, but the Street EX are to expensive to buy again, so I'm looking at these Coolmusic BP series of amps with there very clean sound and adapt-abilities. The Price is right.
@martinespinomusic Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I had the Roland Street Cube EX and I was totally unsatisfied with how a classical guitar sounds. I think steel always cuts through but nylon most of these amps out there and pick ups. Make it sound like it’s a nylon string guitar being amplified through shitty pick up I like the sound like a louder, nylon string guitar not an amplified nylon string guitar. That’s a really hard thing to get. That’s why I like to hear this amp played by a classical guitar player or unless Mundo can do it I’m sure he can. Yeah I was so unsatisfied even when I use the microphone and played my foot through it all these Native American flutes that I have it still didn’t sound that because the reverb was really shitty on the Roland. It sounded like a really bad spring I didn’t like it at all and so I wouldn’t go with the Roland at all if you’d like to retain “an acoustic sound“. And I am a great fan of Roland so don’t get me wrong. I have a lot of their equipment it’s just that this amp does not meet at the cool music amp sounds like it might be the thing if anything I like it because of all the features it has, and you can’t get that for anything that’s at that price but yeah, I forget the Roland. I bought the acoustic sonic 90 which is also discontinued and it does not sound like it had an 80 W of power it was not loud enough for my very quiet Jazz Quartet, so it just doesn’t have the balls. The instrument sounds good on the sender. The fender is made for acoustic instruments and a classical sounds wonderful there and the flute sounds come out really good to reason I’m going to sell my fender is because it does not sound like it has 90 W of power it doesn’t have a lot of power and so I’m thinking of the BP 80 or whichever one one of them has 100 W and I’d like to get that one instead and then with all the features well the fender doesn’t even have those features at all
