Hey Dude, nice review. You may want to verify but I believe the hole on the side of the amp you identified as possibly some type of Bass component is I believe a hole for mounting the amp onto a tripod type stand. I was actually hoping you were going to discuss the mounting hole as I wish it wasn't on the side causing to have the amp on it's side when using a stand. Just my two cents. Cheers!
