Slick tree... my dad had the best dog that could slick the slick tree.... had 2 other dogs that my uncle owned treeing dead hard on this big oak and my dad's dog was freeing in the tree right beside it and that dog knew he was trying to give them the slip.. that dog showed every other dog up that day being a boss

Hey man.. I bought a nice blue tick and he turned a year old two days ago.. I bought him Under the assumption that he was crazy about A coon. I knew he would not run entry by himself but they said he was crazy bout a coon. Since I’ve had him for a week I’ve took him every day this week. I’ve even got coon hides and mess with him. But he doesn’t act interested in Coons when we go coon hunting. But he will run a deer lol. My question is is he too old to break him from wanting to run deer and get him on coons

I know its alittle late but has the dog been zapped before if so shock the fuck out of him when hes on a deer and basically start from scratch with the coon start out eith caged coon and get him fired up about him then let the coon go and then release the dog and keep progressing from there each time making it a step harder and keep stepping it up on him from watching the coon go to not even seeing it and starting him by the track and just keep working on him and hell be a good dog if you get that drive in him

Let him run em he'll eventually start treeing coon as he's chasing the deer and know how to track them fast. Don't start shocking him until he's had plenty coon shot down to him or you could ruin him.

Pest control, hunting for meat and fur, and mainly for the sport of it. The dogs love hunting, and it's a lot of fun being in the woods at night listening to a good hound on the trail.

You never read "Where the Red Fern Grows" as a kid? This is an old and yet great form of hunting. Raccoon meat is great and their fur can be used for a lot of stuff.
