While I have yet to drive in any snow, I have to add that I regret not getting Blizzaks on my new pickup. I went over a little black ice on a straight road, and the truck kicked out a bit with the Cooper winter tires I put on it. It got traction but I was surprised by the sudden loss of traction. When I had the Subaru with the Blizzak WS80 on it, I could stop on a dime on ice. The only thing those tires sucked at was slush, because it could not evacuate it out fast enough, and slush could get them to slide. This time around, my budget has been very tight, but so far I am not convinced that the Coopers are any better than the stock tires on this truck in wet and ice conditions. Note: I do not have studs, because I do a lot of dry highway runs with the truck.

Good follow up, thanks. Am looking at these as a winter biased all-terrain. They have larger voids for mud and sloshy off road work, but there's no way they'll touch a Blizzak on the pavement, agreed. WS80s were very, very good overall on the 2 vehicles I used them on. Hard to give that up, but as a do it all, including warm weather off roading, these are pretty good in the winter. Blizzaks on a wet dirt road are not good. I had the very similar Cooper X/T4 tires on a Jeep and could run them year round. Decent enough in winter to keep them on, and way better than, say, KO2s and AT3s in the cold.
