Recently Tom Watson and Paddy Harrington stated 85% of speed comes from the arms, hands and wrists! Great video!

20 years ago, I had a teacher that made me a much better golfer. Of course he corrected my grip and address, but then virtually the only thing he told me was: "from the top of the swing, straighten your right arm and your left leg as fast as you can". Believe it or not this took me from a big fade to tight draw in just a few weeks. Added distance and accuracy to my shots and lowered my handicap from 11 to 7. Don't know where he got this but it sounds similar to what you describe in this clip. Thanks.

I’m 77 and recovering from a heart attack... was looking for a swing that was more “effortless power” rather than my old swing of “powerful effort” and having been a Tom T devotee since I worked with him in 1989 your explanation of 1,2,3 chest quiet body follows arms/hands... Tom could not have explained or demonstrated it any better...need to do some drills but first time out yesterday after 5 weeks in recovery I shot my age... thank you Cooper 👍

There is some real gold here people but as the old saying goes you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink, as a long time student of TGM and TT I believe your videos bring a deeper insight into his methods. It would be great to see you hitting a ball from down the line view. Many thanks.

Did you not hear the impact...? What else do you need...?

2:19 is gold - right elbow, left knee, right wrist left ankle. First time I heard that one, but provides excellent rhythm and timing. Thanks.

Thank you for your videos. On one of the Tom Tomasello videos he illustrates what the hand do. The left rolls and the right hinges back. He seems to advocate you do this immediately on takeaway and then fold the right arm. Love to see your take on this and how the 1,2,3 is used in short game. Thanks again.

If you're a hitter it's simultaneous uncocking and roll. If you're a swinger it's sequenced uncocking then roll.

I agree with everything you have said and have diligently practiced this method. The issue I run into is if I dont really "work" to get the right should down plan then I run out of right arm and then I flip it. I have to really pivot thrust to move the shoulder. Maybe I am doing something wrong but thats been my experience using radial ax hammer methods.

i seem to play my best when i swing the hands, arms and club and not put any intentional body action into it. the body just kind of follows in sympathy with the swing action.

Love the simplicity...)but I still wonder why I still have very strong arms and hands..but weak legs an at 73 have been hitting thousands of iron shags every year for past 20 plus years but last couple even watching so many lessons I have lost so much distance on even my most solid hits regardless of technique ...feel so strong in upper body and pretty flexible ...Is it all just age or technique?

i'm 70 now and ditto on all that stuff. age related? the driver with the big heads and graphite shaft go about the same distance, 220, 240 and maybe 250 as 20-25 yrs ago but irons with steel shafts do not. 150 was a 7iron now it's 5 hybrid at 150. we just can't fight it.

Manuel de la Torre vs. modern. chicken or egg argument as old as time. truth is different feels, methods, or thoughts work for different people. everyone has their own way of moving the club squarely and quickly. swing your swing. the way described here is an easy way to get people interested and into the game, but not a way to be elite. that's fine. most people aren't.
