Interesting that the Cortina driver got the 1 min penalty, at 2:07 the flag drops, at 2:08 the Impala is already moving but the Cortina is standing still.

I also have a copy of that on VHS From the early 80’s. I’ve watched it so many times just to see that Impala come over the hill sideways 👌😂

08221944 Don’t think they’ve ever sold Chevs new down here, Holden began as a merger of General Motors Australia and Holden Body Builders to become General Motors-Holden. Any Chevs here have always been imported.

Holden was a well established coach builder an had been assembling many makes and models for an extended period. The Chevrolet name was still around until the 70s for cars and the 80s for trucks. As was British GM in Bedford until the 90s and Vauxhall until the mid 60s.

@@fangeo American cars of most makes were sold through dealers in Australia till 1972. My step-father's brother was such a dealer and had his own left/right hand conversion shop which ended up being called something like Chapel Street Conversions in Richmond.
