Finally bought some after reading so many great reviews....indeed it's a great brew. I found it does have a banana note which I enjoy, it's very smooth and has a great taste. Ranks VERY high on my list of American lagers! Well done! And, you make a GREAT point about calories, which is why I usually favor light beers....but since I'm a lightweight it really doesn't matter much.

The one and only beer my dad would drink. Strange now one of my upper tier adjunct lagers. I guess at 56 I am now like my dad, as I do tend to favor this beer, yet i, unlike my dad will still drink others as well.. I can remember every now and than he would add a pinch of salt to his beer. Regular table salt. It really does change the flavor. I have tried this with other adjuncts and it is an interesting addition.

Great review......always nice when a beer reviewer doesnt bash cheap beer but can see it's time and place. I'm blessed to make a little more money in my life now then what I used to so my game day, I wanna have maybe more then a few beers is Sam Adam's Boston Lager now. Actually it's probably the only beer I buy anymore period simply because its taste quality and drink ability is unmatched imo. Allot of beer geeks out there would roll there eyes when they read that but this was actually my first craft beer I ever had......tried hundreds of craft beers after that then ended up coming back to it cause I simply enjoy the overall experience of drinking this beer the best. So ironic cause I can buy this at a gas station. My craft beer loving buddies hate it about me......drink what makes you happy. Cheers!

I'll never understand why people judge or talk shit about people who are drinking what they want to drink. It makes zero sense to me. Like you mentioned, maybe people are drinking what they can afford, or maybe people are old school and drank beer before craft was a thing, and thats what they like. The beer community is awesome, but its also an odd place. Cheers!

I had it once years ago when I was at a bar with few options and wanted the tick on untappd cause fuck it. More recently my company's holiday party was at a venue where banquet was the best option. I actually don't mind it much, it has a lot more flavor than most of the generic crap.

Advertising is how these mega corporations discern their beers from their competitors. I'm sure you've noticed over the years that the only way these behemoths differentiate themselves is often not what's in the bottle more than the bottle or can itself. Couple that with regularly updated " lifestyle" campaigns that often piggy back on what's fashionable at the time, fitness, music, regional outdoor lifestyles and most importantly, very good looking people. The Coors beer your drinking is a prime example of how to move more of a very familiar product, re-package it in a retro 1936 squat bottle to re-invigorate the buying public. Cheers, Bud

Also as a former big dude who now keeps an eye on most things I consume and how much work I’ll need to devote to offsetting those calories, you’re totally right about “drinking calories.” If you’re gonna drink calories, either go low cal with easy-drinking macro-light stuff, or go high with tasty craft/indie beer. I’ll be damned if I’m going to drink bland beer that has more calories than slightly blander “light” beer, only to then run my ass off to offset those calories. I’ll stick to local craft beers that I enjoy/love, while still running my ass off. 🍻🏃😉 Or...just enjoy things and ignore me. 😊 - John
