The criteria for a bad cop to me is this: Knowling trampling on somebody's rights, falsifying records or evidence to provide a false guilt to a crime, using excessive force, endangering the lives of innocents, and witnessing these acts and doing nothing about it. I personally think they should recieve harsher sentences given that they are given more priviledge over the average citizen.

I'm so sorry that you're re-traumatized when viewing these cops being violent towards Black people. Thank you for your service. I hope change will come - soon, because this use of excessive force by LEOs is unacceptable. The young man was terrified and traumatized as he was subjected to violence, pleading for his life. He must've been confused by the cops' orders, like "Get on your face!" which should've been "Lie on your stomach," (repeated) which had been said seconds earlier, but switched to the officer bellowing "Get on your face!" The victim couldn't process or understand what the cops meant by putting his arms out in front of him - while lying and being held face-down - and seemed to be protecting his head out of fear. He was in no way resisting. When the cop said, "_You've got a gun_ pointing at your head" as a threat, the frightened victim likely misunderstood and thought the cop meant _he_ had a gun on him, hence his answer that he didn't have a gun on him. His squirming wasn't an attempt to obstruct police or "escape," but seemed like a genuine, self-preservation, flight response at being in such an unexpected and unprovoked attack, especially because of the prevalence of violence towards Blacks by police, and last year's BLM movement thrusting this ugly reality into the spotlight. This young man and his 2 buddies looked like they were sitting down, taking a break from cycling, when approached by the cops. The victim had what looks like a lighter in his hand, so having a cigarette or maybe a joint - a ridiculous reason to provoke such an extreme response by police. I can only imagine how horrifying that violent, life-threatening incident was, and I hope those cops get convicted and are given _meaningful sentences,_ to send a message to _ALL_ police, and that act as a deterrent to excessive use of force and targeting of POCs. I hope the young man seeks support, like trauma counselling, paid by victims' services, so he can recover from this devastating threat to his life by LEOs.

Guy looked like he was on medication or had a mental health problem. Watching a vulnerable adult get assaulted like this is upsetting, just like that old white women with dementia several months ago. @wholeshebang1
@wholeshebang1 3 жыл бұрын
@@2DRonaldo - He didn't seem to have mental health issues - he appeared to be terrifed of being shot by police at any second. Every person handles violent attacks differently, and if he had a history of being abused, he may act more out of proportion to an incident, or be confused by the mixed orders the 2 cops were yelling at him. In this case, he's a Black man and is well aware of what white police have done to Blacks - they'll shoot without just cause, and say they thought they saw a gun, when none was present. This was excessive use of force - and that young man had every right to feel terrified, confused and in distress. The "fight-flight-freeze-or fawn (try to appease the attacker) response was activated and he seemed to _freeze_ physically, while processing what was being yelled at him, make some sense of it ("Why are you doing this?" "I don't have a gun."), and trying to cover his head to protect it, when they yelled at him to put his arms _out in _*_front_*_ of him_ (impossible when being pinned on stomach). Having a gun barrel _on_ one's skull would scare the f!ck out of me, and I'd probably react like he did.

That's how APD does. My friend, Gregg, was drunk and yelling at his wife 1 night. His wife called my friend, Max, whose car I happened to be in. Max zoomed to their house and when he parked, he B-lined to their door. I calmly get out and start walking. APD stop ME, frisk ME and question ME. Mind you, the only reason they were there is because someone called the police on my White friend, Gregg. The police even asked ME why White Max ran. I guess I was expected to read minds. For what it's worth, they never did talk to Gregg. Gregg was the proud owner of 3 firearms and when he got drunk, he thought it was playful to practice BJJ on his woman.

It's not even that. Two guys run off on foot, and a black man with a bicycle and backpack is resting on the curb minding his own business. How do you get from trespass call, to pull a gun on a black guy who just happens to be in the area and almost certainly has nothing to do with the situation, to pull a gun on him and threaten his life without asking him a single question? life in prison without the possibility of parole. There was no excuse for this and anyone else would be charged with terroristic threats and if they had done it to a cop would be charged with attempted murder, especially in a state like mine where the penalty for a crime against the cops is doubled because it was a cop. Just ask the guy serving life for shooting a cop at point blank range with his own gun on Christmas day 1994. Four shots fired, four wings hit, and charged with attempted murder. What was the idiot prosecutor thinking? That someone who shoots this accurately (much more accurately than most cops) was actually planning to hit the femoral arteries and letting the guy bleed out? There was no attempted murder there and since in this state the jury has no ability to find the guy guilty of a lesser charge he should have been acquitted because of prosecutorial misconduct in filing that charge.

They never do tell you. They get you in cuffs. Then they think about what to charge you with LATER. THAT is one thing that needs to be changed. When an officer is ASKED what charge am I being arrested or detained for? The cop should be obligated to tell you. That gets rid of all misunderstandings AND a proper dialogue can be had with the officer concerning the incident.

@@jaymeez it was 3 suspects , if 2 run away you have 1 more suspects / witnesses , who might be able to give information , he might chill there but in the police 's eyes it was a suspect because he was with the other 2 , why would you the other 2 are running if you already have 1 that can provide information? other police units can look for those 2 others, but it got completely out of hand

@@peewee-nv8yc Well the actions of others do not make me guilty of anything. Putting myself in that guys shoes if the 2 people there ran away then charge them with evading and if you want to question me a person that’s just chillin not evading not doing anything then ok question me but that cop went hands on! There was no reason for that besides if I heard the story correctly this was a trespassing call. Trespassing is not a crime that requires you to bring that much aggression to the point of pointing a weapon to someones head when that person is calm as a cucumber. There is a reason those officers got arrested
