This was the first time I got to hear this song since it first aired, 30 years ago. It had haunted me since that day...I remembered it was beautiful, and it spoke to me, but little else. This time, I got to share it with my wife. When I first heard this, we’d only been married 3 years and I knew how lucky I was to have her. Now-30 years later?-Randy Newman might as well have written it just for me. Thank you so much for posting a high quality version of this.

Randy was encouraged by one of his archivists to go back to the song and do a proper recording of it. And Randy finally did record it for his album DARK MATTER in 2017.
