Copan Ruinas Honduras has amazing Mayan Ruins and is a World Heritage Site. They have some incredibly preserved temples, ball courts, tunnels and much more! This was a day spent exploring the site there, and I was given a private tour from an awesome guide named Cesar Flores.
He guided me through the entire site and explained the purpose for each building in this ancient Mayan city; along with the culture and their history there. I wish I could have put it all into this video, but to keep it time efficient, this is what it came to. I really recommend traveling to Copan Ruinas and visiting this Mayan World Heritage site. Words can’t express how special and amazing this area truly is!
Also, a BIG thank you to the staff at the Copan Ruinas Archeology Park for allowing me to fly my drone there, and for the amazing hospitality they showed me! Thank You for making this video possible, you guys rock! (no pun intended)

I just got back from Honduras about a month ago and I returned to the states a happily married man! My beautiful wife is from the capital city Tegucigalpa. For our honey moon we spent a nice long weekend at Copan Ruinas and of course we went to see the ancient ruins. Considering my family is from Honduras I've always wanted to go ever since I was a child, but never got the chance and finally I got to see it in real life this year. It was truly an amazing experience for lack of a better expression. I felt this serene and calming feeling being surrounded by so much history and rich culture from so long ago. We hired a private tour guide who was very polite and obviously knowledgeable on everything that we saw there. If my memory serves me correct he told us that only about 25% of the ancient ruins have been excavated and that the rest is pretty much covered by the surrounding jungle. He also said all in all it would take about the next 200 years or so to excavate 100% of the Copan Ruins. The nearby town itself is absolutely beautiful and has this very colonial look and feel to it. The residents are so friendly and are always willing to lend a hand with directions and recommendations as to where to eat, needless to say the food there is just delectable! There are quite a few places to wine and dine and overall its quite inexpensive to dwell and have fun out there. I would recommend visiting Copan Ruinas to everyone if they ever got the chance. Kudos for such a great video, it took me right back!

trifeloco Hi, wow that’s great to hear, congratulations! Thanks so much for sharing your experience, it sounds very similar to mine, and the reason I have returned there a couple times. I agree, it is definitely serene and a peaceful experience to explore the ruins, especially if you are early in the morning. Thanks for watching!

is it 011 before 504 I'm not sure I thought it was 011. I was there April 26 and the 27th the power was out in the town and it was hot.

On Demand Tech Hey, I believe 011 is to call out of the US, here we don't use that area code. They start with 504 for Honduras calls. Yeah the country is upgrading the power grid here so they shut off the power here in Copan Ruinas every week temporarily. You get used to it if you stay long enough haha. Fortunately now is the rainy season so it feels cooler 👍 Thanks for watching and commenting!
