When my Golf R was getting serviced Had a base model focus as a rental and it was one of the worst especially wth there version of the dsg transmission felt like the thing was gonna stall on me felt like it was gonna fall apart only had 40k

Fun Fact: The Flashy Porsche Cayenne is just a Vw Touareg. It shares the same platform and even uses the 3.6 VR6 engine that VW uses in alot of there vehicles just with a different intake to "Spice" things up a bit for Porsche

You don't often see ones that look bad but suspension issues alone can write one off. The diesels melt pistons and you have to take the body off to do the turbo.

I just bought one here in the UK for less than a grand, just spent a couple of grand on repairs but it's still worth double the whole cost, it's a low mileage motor, well worth the money, I will keep it well maintained and it will be used regularly

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that light on the dash of the Land Rover was the seatbelt light, not a brake light.

I have to wonder if that blower resistor in the glove box of the Land Rover isn’t there because someone found out that in order to replace the resistor they had to pay thousands to have a mechanic remove and reinstall the dash? I’d check on that cost before purchasing. On some vehicles it’s an easy repair, and on others the labor cost is prohibitive, besides it’s a pain removing and replacing old brittle plastic in the dash without breaking any of it. Not quite the same thing, but the Car Wizard’s Channel recently posted a video on what it took to service the heater in a Chevy Tahoe. You may want to review that. In order to replace a $30 heater core it cost $2,000 approximately in labor to disassemble and reassemble the dash. He had a later video where he had to do the same for a Jeep. He had three work carts of parts laid out for the disassembled dash. Obviously, these vehicles are not designed for ease of service.

@@briangallagher9426 Agree. Been a pattern lately with Randy’s channel. All he does lately is bid on only vehicles that need no work except for a car wash, and sends them back to auction. He probably needs to take the “Rebuilds” out of his channel name, since that never happens anymore. In fact, he no longer even repairs any part of a vehicle. I miss the way he used to run his channel, when he actually challenged himself with fixing the vehicles he wins.

@@therealfredwardbenson7295 Yes. I agree. Just hope he gets all that under control before he starts to lose subscribers. Randy’s a good person and has done well considering how he describes his childhood, having to live in a chicken coop at one point, per one of his online postings. However, particularly to new subs on his channel expecting to see vehicles rebuilt, they will eventually be disappointed. Lately, he just buys a car, drives it home, discuses what it needs, and then ultimately decides to just give it a wash, fill the gas tank, and send it back to auction. That loses interest by the fifth or sixth repeat. I wish him well, but to keep growing his channel, I believe he needs to do more interesting things once he gets caught up with his other responsibilities. Guarantee that Focus ST mechanical issue, is Cylinder 4. Those ST engines are prone to Cylinder 4 failures, and if not careful, entire engine right after.

I see that Ford Focus had a key at Copart because the dash was on. It has 96,605 miles on it. Probably a blown engine based on all the stickers all over it. It was dogged to death!! It is listed as hail damage as well.

On the Focus ST when you checked the oil levels i saw sparkly Engine Oil so it probably needs something other than the Cosmetic Probably an Engine

I love Focus STs but with all of those KZbinr stickers, I'd RUN from it!!!! That was some awesome investigative work that you did on figuring out the location of the damage. BTW, I am guessing since the huge zip tie was in the car, it had a key when it arrived however someone had stolen it. I agree, thieves are douchebags. I wouldn't be surprised if the person who ends up winning it for a discount isn't the a-hole that stole the key. Hey.... At least take a chance on the Cayenne. It couldn't hurt. You can't win it at all if you don't try. If you do, maybe you will.
