For that old diesel, you gotta pull the knob halfway and wait for the heater in the salt shaker! to warm up and then pull the knob completely.

@mexicanspec4 жыл бұрын
I had that exact Mercedes 220D. Mine was a 1973 model, stick shift and it was dark blue. The best thing about the car is if you are on the highway and somebody is tail gating you, you floor it and fill up the highway with smoke. They always back off. I drove mine from Las Vegas to LA all the time. The car was over 20 years old and still performed perfectly.

I had a neighbor who had a Cobra replica. Several times during summertime I'd look up for the clouds since I heard thunder and lightning but the sky was blue. Then I'd realize, Cobra is started up. One time he went to a car gathering and apparently removed the mufflers before going home. I heard him coming home at 2 a.m. from 25 miles away. It was beautiful.

YOU really went all out on this one, RANDY! I believe you put in a ton of 'extra work' to bring COPART to us from out there. You didn't have to do that. Breathing all that crap when just a few months ago, 'YOU' PROBABLY had Covid BEFORE it even had that name. Your behind the scenes efforts do not go unnoticed. Just get Nick buckled in and head for your home safely with the rest of your crew and you and again, big thanks! Sonny (CT)

Not sure if it has been mentioned already, when starting the Mercedes, pull the starting lever only half way to preignite. When the wire is glowing, pull lever all the way out. Wire is behind the little instrument on the right of the lever and can be seen.

The motor in the Cobra doesn't look like a real Ford 427. It looks like a Ford small block that may have been bored and stroked to 427 cubic inches. A real 427 has a different valve cover bolt pattern, the intake manifold extends under the valve covers, and the distributor goes through the front of the intake (the one in the video has the distributor in front of but not through the intake). Still a very cool car.

That Cobra is not a "kit car" , per se... Backdraft's are sold as fully assembled rolling chassis' You (or the dealer) just drop in the engine & transmission of your choice. Suspension is all BMW E36, so handles great & parts/upgrades are easy. The Backdraft chassis is about 2" longer and wider than an "original" Cobra, so the cockpit is roomier... more comfortable on a long drive. The shields on the sidepipes should help with burning your calves, but everyone typically gets "snakebit" at least once.
