Well, that explains how the Scamp ended up in VA. Copart knows what states allow what, so even with shipping the car up there from LA, they still made money.

I'm glad your learning not to explode 👍 good job randy and I can also give you some knowledge in Vermont if a vehicle is 10 years or older you do not need a title at all to sell it the stip is it can only be sold to another resident it can't be sold outta state and something else ive learned is in 48 states a junk tile means a vehicle can no longer be sold to the Public but in NC it can as long as its tagged as a farm vehicle and in Montana it is allowed to be rebuild and put back on the road as long as it passes the rebuild test through the dmv 👍❤ keep up the good video man I love the channel

Man I wanted to see a cold start on the Tesla. Every state is different. Here in NY, they do not use titles on 1972 and back, and it is very easy to get a registration on a car with no paperwork at all. New Jersey? They treat you like a criminal if you don't have a title. To the point guys find ways to get a PA title if they're missing one. The only iffy thing on the Scamp is that the one number on the car, on the trunk lip, does not match.

You would think in the Ad on Copart they would have made it known that "this car may not be legal to register in certain states". I almost feel there more guilty having obviously known this car had a VIN limitation to some buyers.

Non-synchroed 3-speeds are a different animal, I tried to share info about that however he seemed to never get it. You did, Randy and without having ever driven a 3-speed on tge column before. Wow, so in Virginia, you can get away with VIN swaps on older cars. I am sure the Scamp is legit, but it's best to buy cars with VINs on the dash.

In Georgia you don't even need a title to sell a car that's fifteen years or older you can get it registered on a bill of sale that's why so many stolen classics end up in Georgia even if they run the Vin they are only checking to the immediate surrounding states
