Copex S-Wing Shear and lots of other stuff

Our Copex shear doing its thing, shearing heavy steel, crushing containers, shearing aluminium extrusion and baling a large long wheelbase van. There’s a lot of incoming loads of cast, machines, demolition cast and skull. Me breaking an eight tonne skull with the four tonne ball, destroying a vintage David Brown tractor with the ball, a shiny new John Deere and trailer delivering scrap, a bit of everything really.

Super video! Great to see so much. I am wondering, what it the max weight your excavator can pick up? I could watch for hours. You hadn´t posted lately, I was starting to get some Schofield withdrawal Mark. This was well worth the wait!

Hi Paula, I’ve have had upto half of our staff missing for the last two weeks, holidays, health, family problems, my youngest son and partner had a baby, so I’m juggling a lot of jobs myself, making videos and taking photos has been the lowest priority. I have to just get on with my work, dealing with customers, processing and loading material out. This video is just a not particularly well thought out compilation of what I’ve managed to shoot in the last week and a half. I haven’t posted on Instagram much either and I normally post daily. The Sennebogen 830 has a theoretical maxi lift around 12 tonnes but theory and practice are two different things, the grab weighs two tonnes so that’s the first two tonnes of every lift, you not have to move the boom, or the dipper very slightly to alter the lift capacity a lot, the lift charts for this type of machine are very complex - and ignored usually, it will either lift it or it won’t - or it starts to fall over 😂

Sorry to hear your staff is off Mark and you are doing, most likely, way too much yourself. Don´t wear yourself down. However, it sound like the business is thriving, which is a very good thing. Congratulations on the new grandbaby! Thanks for the info, I love learning new things. I knew the grab would be heavy, but I had no idea it was that much! And this video is great.@@markschofield9494

SG iron skull, sometimes called pourdown, other names are used around the world. Yes, it’s what a foundry pours into the sand on the foundry floor, usually left over at the end of a shift, a grade change or because a breakdown stops them pouring. Most foundries - and steelworks- produce skulls, we buy ones that we can break from our foundry customers and break them down to a usable size.

how long is the cutting blade? 1200mm? usually we produce 1000ton with about 1400-2000mm depand customers' application. In EU market, the producer like small cutting blade. Usually the production rate of our machien is better than EU's. another question, why did you change the excavator to be powered by both electric and diesel. by this way, usually each year can save USD30000-50000 each unit in China.

The blade is 800mm, this is a shear baler, if the blade was a lot wider the bales would be too big. A 1000 tonne ram can exert more cutting force across a shorter blade than a longer blade. You are mistaken about diesel electric, all of our machines are diesel, except the small non ferrous baler and shear which are 100% electric. The Copex suits our particular needs.

When we design the shear, we will consider the cutting force with longer blade, it means that our cylinder will be bigger, and give more pressure from oil pump. For the excavator with steel grabbing machine. I type wrong words. My question shoulde be: why dont you change the excavator to be powered by both electric and diesel. usually in China, the almost 100% owners will change the excavator by both electric and diesel. 90% working time is powered by eletric, it save much more cost than by diesel. later I will send video to show it.

OK, I understand, we don’t want the complexity of hybrid diesel/electric, only the large companies are making the change in the UK. Maybe in the future but for now diesel is the way. We don’t run our machines intensively so our fuel consumption isn’t high, the extra expense of the machine wouldn’t be paid for in fuel savings.
