You'd think somebody would have invented puncture-proof tyre for bikes, motorbikes and vehicles by now and become a millionnaire, perhaps a flexible woven metal strip incorporated in the rubber would do it. Alternatively perhaps a solid tyre would do the trick that needed no inflating, made out of a honeycombed rubber compound.

The smallest sprocket? What's that in English? I have two gear controls on my bike marked from 1-3. So that means they should both be set to 1?

Smallest on the rear = the fastest one.
