Thank you for these recent views of the Cornelia mine that started just after 1900 (steam shovels!) and ceased in the mid-1980’s! Your viewing vantage sure tops (no pun) the public one!

A couple years back a local pilot flew to the bottom and back out (bad idea and luckily he didn't have any issues). He was only flying a short time when he did it. If he did it would have been a hell of a chore just getting out. He is unfortunately no longer with us. He was a naturally talented pilot but he loved adrenaline and risky stunts which cost him his life. Didn't know him but heard he was a great guy. Be careful out there folks!
