Bandarra's video at the Liberty Paramotor factory shows the man who hand makes their nets, on a big peg board jig!

This video was far from stupid if you ask me but hey I nerd out over stuff like this 🤷🏻♂️😆 Thanks for sharing this Kyle.

Indeed the best/easiest way to make a net. I have taught several guys how to do it. Once you get the hang of it you can make a new net in about an hour and about $5 in UHMWPE cord. The most important part is sizing your gauge card properly to ensure it comes out the right size. A small deviation on the card size adds up in every cell and makes a huge difference in the final size of the net. And if you have fixed attachment points on your hoop, sizing the card is pretty critical to insure it all lines up right without creating a wonky looking net when tensioned. Then its your needle size. You want your needle to hold enough line you dont have to keep tying extensions in. My needles are made out of 1/8" tig wire and are easier to handle than the typical shuttle type neede.

I've ordered the amount of patience required to tackle this type of project....still on backorder. ~8^)

oh my goodness... Mine strings thru holes on the hoop. Weakens the hoop a little, but I can easily replace short pieces. Weaving that netting looks like an art form of some sort.

Pretty cool content, Kyle O'Glee. I made a paracord net about a month ago for my quadcopters to hang from.

Was thinking of doing my own netting too, but then did a calculation of my time vs buying one. It was so close i made the choice to just buy one. But if i do do it, it will be because i have an unquenchable thrust for learning new skills.

I am so thankful you set me up with a Macfly after training! They are so easy to replace compared to this but now I get a better understanding of why Parajet charges so much for their replacement netting.

Cool to see you taking the time to hone unique skills! I think I watched the exact same youtube video when I tied my net a few years ago. Not a ton of info out there! I'm proud of how good it turned out. I just got a kangook and learned how to string and tighten that system. I think the woven net is marginally safer, but the strung net is fast and the cage is super easy to take apart.

I didn't realize my ratchet straps were rubbing on the net while I was driving and the inner part of my net broke. I may use fishing line.

Call me easy, but I prefer the MacFly/PaP frames with their netting design. They are the easiest to restring, especially if the opposite side survives. Then you just copy the opposing side. Not to mention that they look so unique and stylish!!
