Great tip! Im going to put a new guage in tomorrow using old original copper tube from 1965. I removed it from old guage in the dash and Im going to Dremel cut off old ferrel and nut and use new ferrel and nut meant for plastic line. Hope it works!

I really appreciate the heads up, I was planning on using a copper line. A small copper tube cutter is the only way I cut copper. I do alot of flaring and the end has to be right. Thank You!

I had some Sunpro mini gauges where I couldn't get the top last fitting to tighten up to the gauge itself using copper tubing. so I filed down the crush fitting just a little so the threads would catch and start it's crush. After watching this video, I'm wondering if the tubing being pushed in all the way into the gauge was the problem with it.

Just put a copper line on my truck I did a test start it went to 60 psi (HPOP) let it run for at least a minute and no leak you think I’m alright? I put the cooper line in the fitting and just tightened until it stopped didn’t over do it because I didn’t wana strip it out

you should be good, mine would have leaked when it was running, I just didn't allow for the compression.

I have a leak on mine as well. I just went and bought the kit and re did the line and fittings, and what do you know it still leaks. Not sure if it's not tight enough, but I don't wanna overtighten it and strip it out. I need help because it is getting really frustrating

What finally worked for me was to make sure that the line is not bottomed out before tightening it up, there needs to be space so it has a place to go

Tight spot for a Chevy. Why not use an extender tube like Ford uses. Might look funky but a little easier to reach.

I made the same mistake 4 days ago with the nylon tubing

To cut the copper use a tube cutter. Like one you use for brake lines.

Better off buying a new copper line and new fittings. My foxbody has been leaking from the same issue

A dremel with a cut off wheel. Its small enough to cut it cleanly and not bend or tear it up.
