@@PENNYLS1 it was very detailed very clear description on how to because when you get these instrument clusters digital ones I mean they give you a sending unit for your oil and water the oil sending unit has had me baffled for a week before your video I seen many but none of them detailed how to with the ICT billets thanks again

Lol - This is the real life of a home mechanic/fabricator. This is a great video and thank you for publishing this. I've put a 5.3 in my friends 1980 TransAm. It runs great and she's been driving it for over a year but w/o the Dash Temp and Oil pressure gauges. I've been wanting to remedy that and , thanks to you, looks like I have an avenue for success. I loved the reaction when you dropped the washer. I have the same vocabulary when that happens to me. Those dropped washers, nuts, bolts seem to disappear into some other dimension and can't be found.

Great video!! Helping me with my decisions on gauges for my 67 Camaro, LS swap. Wasn't trying to spend another thousand for gauges.

I used a oil pressure sending unit for a 02 Silverado and a coolant temp sensor for a 98 Camaro. Did a 5.3 swap in a 94 S10. All my factory gauges, warning lights and cruise control all work.

That’s what’s up. I tell everybody it’s not hard to get the stock gauges to work. I’ve since switched to Dakota Digital

Do you have a video of how to connect your gauges to the ls swap? I have a 78 MC with a 5.3 and need to connect all my gauges to the stock dashboard
@krisrawk18173 жыл бұрын
4 months to late here but you can buy a LS oil pressure sensor relocation hose which basically is a braided hose that plugs into the oil pressure sensor port behind the intake & allows you to locate the sensor some where ells without having to kill your self trying to get to the damn sensor behind the intake. Just goto ebay type in oil pressure sensor relocation kit

Yessir that’s what I ended up doing.

Idk if u knew, but the factory Lzs oil pressure sensor uses same voltage reference as ur stock one.

Can you just replace the factory 2 wire coolant temp sensor with the 3 wire one? It has a yellow, brown and green wire

Yeah you can do it that way. I got it working though

Does the computer have to have the stock oil pressure stuff. I'd like to have both. My old gauge too.
@PENNYLS1 Жыл бұрын
The computer doesn’t read the oil pressure. The sending unit is going straight to the original gauge inside the car.

Have u got ur stock tach working, I know had to do it, it’s easy hit me
@PENNYLS13 жыл бұрын
It got it hooked up but it goes out sometimes. I just ran the wire that comes through the firewall that used to go to the distributor, ran it to the tach wire coming out of the LS Computer.

Do you still have to run that gauge temp sensor even if you have the stock temp sensor on the other side? Probably a stupid question.
@PENNYLS12 жыл бұрын
For the stock temp gauge to work yes. The sensor on the driver side feeds the ECM and turns the fans on at the proper temp. The sensor on the passenger side goes straight to the factory gauge. That’s how mine is set up. Hope this helps.
