I'm trying to learn how to do this. This is the first video not involving some kind of acid either vinegar or battery acid. I have a batch made with battery acid and copper sulfate. It doesn't even need electricity to plate steel. I just dip it in and there it is. I'm going to experiment with this.

@Pj M Yes, you can use one electrode for smaller pieces but to prevent any 'shadowing' on your part I would rotate the part regularly. Hope this helps

Hi, may I know how to remove a nickel plating + tin plating from copper?
@jc_hz41963 жыл бұрын
How many times can you repeat the process with what you used? Thank you

The electrodes will need to be replaced as they are sacrificial and wear away. The electrolyte can be stored after use and reused (it may need filtering occasionally).

This is a very very basic type of copper electrolyte :D When you plate the part you want, you dont need the Copper Pipe Cathode

Just found your channel. This is brilliant, I always thought you needed acid. Is that just regular copper pipe you are using for the electrodes?
@eBikeSales3 жыл бұрын
Yes, its regular copper pipe for plumbing

I'm wondering if I can use my trickle battery charger as a power source
@eBikeSales3 жыл бұрын
A trickle charger should work, but it will probably have a low power output which will slow the plating process
@Automedon23 жыл бұрын
@@eBikeSales I tried it. It does work, though I didn't develop the plating solution long enough. I did get a halfway decent cover on coins though.

Not working for me

Because you cant use normal iron, it is too high up in the reactivity table. You need to use nickel or anything like that.
@IonutJaR4 жыл бұрын
@@davineismont2264 so using an intermediate nickel playing is the solution?
