Mate, you’re mental and I’m all here for it 😂 Loved the safety sketchers when grinding too 😂😂 This is going to be a great build!

Off the wall idea, but there have been a few people making metal guitars over the years; I think they look great.

This is going to be fun! Watching you work those pieces of copper shall be a hoot! It's going to be very heavy. Any chambering going to go on?

Going for back to back first finished for the cup? You should put the truss rod in them radius the neck and have a copper fretboard Or radius through the copper that would Look crazy

Nothing wrong with a bit of total bonkerness lol, are you going to ebonise the oak fretboard or leave it natural?
@nsjguitarsakascotsman69895 ай бұрын
Natural, I've got loads of ebony boards stashed but wanted something different lol
@barrychristian40505 ай бұрын
@@nsjguitarsakascotsman6989 cool, I've got an oak fretboard for my current build and been experimenting with ebonising it and toying with the idea of a stain burst
@nsjguitarsakascotsman69895 ай бұрын
@@barrychristian4050 I used the ebonising on the single coil build, all cherry. Worked well. But I think the oak will contrast the mahogany nicely.
@barrychristian40505 ай бұрын
@@nsjguitarsakascotsman6989 I think It will too and I've not seen many people use it as it's mainly "posh tone woods" that everyone uses lol
@nsjguitarsakascotsman69895 ай бұрын
@barrychristian4050 my stance is the harder a wood the less vibration it will absorb and that's it as far as electric guitars go. I like something hard and stable for a neck but I'll generally use anything that looks nice lol

Love it! You *have to* use a through neck with copper as this is soft metal. My beloved James Trussart guitar is a hollow body telecaster (so-called "RustyCaster") made with two sides of embossed steel plates, welded in the middle, thrown in salted water and acid after being sandwiched between two alligator skins... The resulting rust is chemically stopped and that gives you absolutely unique instruments! Because it's made out of steel, this is using a standard tele neck (made of Koa + Rosewood), and there's just a rather small (8cm wide) piece or wood glued between the top/bottom, just under the bridge. That guitar rocks! So this using copper thing is a great idea! Let's see what rumbling sound you'll get out of it! (That type of body material does affect the sound). Where do you get such nice chunks of wood? That was hard going through the band saw.... Great start anyways!

A friend had a stock of really old Brazilian mahogany and a big board of Ash. I bought them lol.
