Coppicing, Homemade Tools & Trading Time For Heat

Hello all! Welcome back. If this video we head out on the snowmobile in search of some firewood. It's only small trees I'm collecting here but as we don't own our own forest yet I have to take what I can get! These trees overhang into the field which causes the tractors problems in the summer so will be cut down anyway.

I'm fortunate to love my work, restoring and rebuilding 1938 wooden framed and bodied railway carriages. coppicing willow, birch, has been done for centuries, you are carrying on an ancient work, nice to see.

Hi Ash, Mare, hope you're both well and not misbehavin' too much. Coppicing's a great idea and a great skill to have, not to mention the harvest. I have neighbours who pollard (no pun intended) their willow trees, and local crafts people make use of the harvest. As for your home made mashete, you could start a new industry/channel and you could add blacksmithing to your skills set. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍✌ PS.
