The process involves selecting the right type of wood, which should be dry and seasoned to ensure it burns efficiently and safely. Hardwoods like birch are preferred for their long burn times and high heat output. It’s important to gather wood early, allowing ample time for it to dry, usually six months to a year. Properly stacked and stored in a dry place, the wood will be ready to provide cozy warmth throughout the winter months.

Did your plot include any woodland? Have you thought about buying land with forest or is it too much work (if finances allow of course)?

It didn't unfortunately but we do have something currently in the works! It's going to take a while to materialise though

How are you preparing the track across the lake? Is it simply a matter of riding over the same line to compact or clear the snow?

Yea that's basically it. I go maybe 3 or 4 times and make it one track wider each pass so it can take the log trailer. Works surprisingly well as long as the weather plays nice. I would say fully loaded plus the snowmobile I am around a ton
