There was no reason for calling the authorities. If the manager just asked Lamont to leave, if he didn't or behaving in a manner to justify, we would understand. She was just asserting her power as a wanna be manager. This situation could have been a tragic outcome over a misunderstanding. She escalated the situation, she didn't give Lamont a chance to leave! I am not a lawyer I was a business owner for 40+ years. They must post a sign where you/all can see it as you enter the store telling everyone you cannot do the following NO Video taping allowed, on refunds ect. and any other store store policies they may have in several places in the store. Other wise they cannot detain you until they post signs around the store. As far as that employee she needs to tell you that she is a manager in the front of the store and not a shipping person that is a team leader of a small group of warehouse employee's. She was trying to intimidate you without first identifying herself as to her name and her job position so you know up front who you are dealing with. Clearly this Walmart store did not do things by the book! Just my 2 cents.

This happens across all workplaces where a person is given a “little “ authority and it goes to their head. It’s also a situation of them being manipulated without realizing it. How so? If there were complaints? If she’s not proven herself in her role or is still relatively new or disliked? Then it becomes a manipulative show of power. She just got played and doesn’t realize it. It’s so sad because people lose their humanity over a “little “, “insignificant “amount of pseudo power. They are not much different than the employee who was never affirmed at home by parents or spouse and they don’t know how to go about achieving that so? They wreck havoc in the workplace pitting weak people against each other. It’s very hard to maintain integrity and not lose yourself.
