No it doesn't. The girls were freezing yet not one of those officers thought to take off his jacket and wrap it around the girls. How many times did the officer ask the girls if they were hungry? The first time he asked them if they were hungry another officer should have been sent to get food with that info being conveyed to the girls. Asking 2 or 3 more times?! The little girl who didn't want to come out of the barrel, a) the officer was the adult, kids don't always do what is best for themelves and b) the first priority is the overall physical well being of these girls.. She should have been immediately picked up and taken to warmth. Wrap that rug thing around her or the officer's jacket, anything. just get her to warmth. Listening to these cop talking to these little girls they were clearly not completely comfortable interacting with kids and they're probably all fathers. There is a YT video of cops raiding a motel room where a man who had kidnapped a 7 yr girl was holed up with the child. The man kept her naked. A cop immediately picked her up to get her away from that situation with and a 2nd cop, maybe 10 seconds later, asked "can we get her a blanket or a towel" and covered her. They were both male cops and they not only were their priorities right, the way they were so comfortable talking to her, these are men who interact with their own kids all the time.

While you would want them to, they were brainwashed and they were going with the cult leader because they believed in the cause and as they said didn't do anything wrong. As an outside looking in of course we know it's truly wrong but they can also plead reason of insanity or delusion. This really only qualifies in cases such as this where the Grandparents themselves didn't do anything and were providing all the finances and were being mislead by John and Sam. It is very rare to get this, but the grandparents clearly as the interrogations went on saw how brainwashed they were. That is how clever Cult leaders and those with anti social disorders really are.

the fact these grown adults allowed their grandchildren to be assaulted like this might explain how john turned out to be the way he is
@thisismyname-br8qtАй бұрын
I am one of the Coltharp’s grandkids and I just stumbled across this video. I haven’t seen my uncle in almost a decade but I see my grandparents every few months and they’ve talked about this situation before. I don’t condone my uncle’s actions at all and I think both him and Sam deserve to rot in that cell, but I’m honestly kind of surprised by the comments about my grandparents. They did do nothing to stop John, but there was more going on than they described in the video. I’m not sure if I’m getting the details of this story right, but there was one time my grandpa said that one time John took him and my grandpa out to a hill and held them there for hours at gunpoint, threatening to shoot if they moved, because my grandpa suggested that they would call the police. John did horrible things to them just as he did to the kids and they pretty much couldn’t stop him or else they would be murdered. So the comments saying that they willingly did it are upsetting to me. Also the comment in the video about him distracting himself from the topic because he’s leaning to the side bothered me. My grandpa has horrible hips and a horrible back and he’s had many surgeries. When he’s sitting he’s constantly leaning and moving like he was in the video. It’s just how he sits. I already knew about most of the stuff in this video so it wasn’t too surprising, but it was just interesting to see the actual interrogations and such, as someone related to this awful person. This event affected everyone in the family and I actually saw Micah and my cousins right after it happened several years ago (before she shunned our side of the family). Back then I was younger and didn’t really understand the situation much but now I realize how wide the scope was. Its very depressing and outraging that someone in my family is such a horrible person. The closest I’ve gotten to seeing my wretched uncle in the last few years has been driving past the Gunnison Supermax Prison every time I go to visit my family in Spring City. I hope I never actually see his face though. man this is a really long comment but I just thought I should share my perspective and also the perspective that my family has had after hearing about more than this video shows from our grandparents themselves. Its been a wild decade.

Praise god?! are you serious? The Bible was the reason John was able to convince people he was a prophet sent from god to do the very things he did. Do you not see how religious thinking is what leads to cults? These people already have a presupposition that god is real. This allowed John to convince them that he was sent from god. Him and Sam both took literal passages from the Bible to back-up and justify their actions. Now the religious cop-out is to claim that it was really the deception of satan. He taught me after my mom died (I was 10) that I couldn't get food or anything til I "pleased him" He basically made me his personal prostitute from the time I was 10. I couldn't escape. I had no other family besides my younger siblings. I had a child with him, my firstborn when i was 16. He thought he had me so groomed I wouldn't ever try to leave. I was slowly piecing things together as a mother. And the day I left...my sister came to me and asked if dad touched me too. i froze but asked her what did she mean? What did he do? And she told me he started molesting her. When my dad got home, his then fiance asked him to his face in front if my sister. He said no. And she didn't care...even said "I thought so" I then asked him. And he told me yes because i wasn't doing it enough. Since i had and been raising my son. Not with him though. I just... couldn't see him as nothing more than my son. Anyway. I threw my phone against the wall.... unbeknownst to my dad shattering it. And i went to therapy that next day. When i did, i took some of my things...my baby...and left. Reported my dad, and fought for 3 months for anyone to believe me, even the cops knew and respected him. He was a godly man, and a Gulf War Vet...but finally, i was heard by a Judge and they took DNA from my son, me, and by warrant with my dad. That same day, it was rapid results...and he went to jail. Fought for 3 years....and finally he went to prison...but knew the law enough to wait for a plea deal. He had 7 counts against him...and got a good enough lawyer for it to ONLY be 2 counts of Child Abuse...no rape...no incest...and the lawyer said my testimoney wasn't sufficient enough because i was young. The fact that they found the girls in giant drums freezing to death outside, and the first thing the girls were worried about was being seen without pants, said more than enough. Apparently, you're unaware of the enormous child trafficking ring your species has. I think one of the most shocking parts about this case is the stupidity and neglect of the grandparents. What do you mean you were ok with two middle-aged men MARRYING BABIES because they weren't going to "consumate the marriage". The fact that they sat by and let these events unfold is absolutley disgusting, and the lack of charges on them is even more so. I would argue they are just as despicable as the men themselves for not protecting their grandbabies. My heart goes out to those poor girls and the brave officers who rescued them.
