LGR - That was such a very good but powerful video clip of the Kambula pride roaring to possibly communicate with the two Ndhzenga males to get them to their location so that they knew where they all were exactly. It's incredible that a lions roar can travel for a good 5 miles altogether. It would be quite exciting if the pride was on the hunt and/or stalking prey unaware of them. That's something I haven't seen for quite a long while. But it'll give some excitement as the stalk and chase take place. The roaring was a absolutely phenomenal sound that carries a rather long distance. It'll take a big prey animal like a buffalo to keep the entire pride all in good condition and health. I haven't witnessed a real kill for a long time either. They might not be nice, but it is quite interesting indeed. I bet they make a lot of their kills when no one is looking, but they seem to look in quite good condition and health. This is just in case you didn't know about it, the 5yr old Tsalala lioness has at long last given birth to her own very first litter of cubs, possibly by a irry coincidence, on the very same property where her late mum met her untimely death in a fatal lion fight 2 1/2 years ago. No one knows how many cubs she has had, because they haven't been seen there yet on neighbouring Singita. That's another exciting thing that I hope you're aware of now. Whenever you don't see her, do you get regular updates on her so that you know how she's doing and progressing along with her welfare when awol? Although we don't know, but it will be nice if she brings them onto your property there very soon one day. Her tummy looked rather big when she was very well fed while pregnant, but I'd say she's had at least 2 or 3 cubs in total. I'd like to wish her the very best of hopeful luck with raising her first litter of cubs successfully. Let's hope she can rebuild her pride's former numbers and restore them to their former glory. She'll be a great mum. Hope to hear from you shortly. Robert 12.5.24

First, the word you were trying to use is baton, and it’s more than capable of doing damage if you swing it at someone’s legs or head. Also, many UK police simply don’t WANT guns. Tasers and CS/pepper spray are more than enough to incapacitate someone long enough to get them under control and in handcuffs. If armed intervention is truly necessary then there’s always the option of calling in armed response units (the ARU) who do carry everything from small handguns to large machine guns. But even if the ARU does attend an emergency or hostile situation, they will do everything to actively avoid using weapons unless there is some immediate, absolutely critical life-and-death reason to do so, especially as there will be independent investigations to ensure the shooting was necessary and lawful. Instances of police in the UK discharging a firearm are rare as a result and fatal incidents are so rare that when they happen they can be front page news.
