HI Adeola, It is good to see you again and you are well. as a Kenyan i was embarrassed with the Nigerian federal roads, the two policemen did wrong equally i don't think they were serious asking Nola for Money, they were joking and the treatment they got was bad to them and their family. Visa Free: i believe i do not need a Visa to visit my Friends Taiwo and Chidi in Nigeria, it is wrong as we are all African, Security issues: those can be solved, the more we know each other the more we appreciate each other, for example Uganda to me is not a country equally it is another home to me, i go there any time i want. Again Ade, Good to see you- Kenya

Hi Adeola, it's unfortunate that the very small thieves are actually used as scapegoat to show to the world that we are fighting corruption while the big thieves actually walk freely in our society. This will not correct the crime and corruption, it will only help to make get sophisticated in their crime. If we want to put an end to corruption and crime let start with the top period. As per Kenya's move, it's a good step but have to be ready to beefup their security architecture before bokoharam and terrorists groups take over their country.

It's good a foreigner and independent eye has documented the state of our roads. The costs of setting up and maintaining roadblocks as well as the cumulative bribes collected daily on the roads can EFFECTIVELY CONSTRUCT new roads, REPAIR existing ones, and DRASTICALLY REDUCE insecurity and the need for policing every 50 meters of roads. Our retrogressive leaders would rather arrest two hungry-looking officers and continue exhibiting their incompetence.

AdeOla Lady, the check points like you rightly said are tax collections spots where every commercial motorist even private motorists gets to pay a levy, it has become a legal nuisance. Sacking those two officers is an act of pretence, and it's like trying to cure a disease on a tree by cutting the leaf. The menace of officers taxing fellow citizens is heart breaking and nobody is doing anything about this poisonous plague in every part of the nation from north to south and east to west. The state of the roads is another chronicle and the law makers who fly almost always are getting cars of ₦160 Million with the claim that the roads are bad. Nigeria is a complex nation, but we are persuaded of better things concerning the nation.

I love this idea about Kenya visa free. I believe there are more advantages than disadvantages. They just need to tighten up their policies for foreigners in that country. You come in freely, but there are some things to do for proper regulations. it's better than Africans locking Africans out of borders. Many decent Africans would use this as opportunities to take their families on vacation outside the shore of their countries.

Visa free is not free entry.....it's electronic visa which is more thorough and detailed in capturing information about the traveller. Puls the people allowed must provide a viable reason for their travel either tourism....business or an international event. For business or more than 6 month stay, you need to declare about 100,000 at the customs. This is to keep off idlers

Not true man. Kenya is a global metropolitan state, so if there is any vice that anyone brings in, it isn't something the Kenya state is not aware of. Security wise they are not naive and also neither are they naive of any antics that plaques another society that individuals of that society might want to import. No one is banning anyone. Kenya for Example is bordered by Somalia where there is alshabab, and they have faired well considerably security wise. Same way Rwanda has faired well with Visa on arrival and currently visa free, Kenya will. Karibu...

It is so true what you said about those 2 policemen who attempted to take money from a traveler. The Police court(?) put up a show. A fish starts rotting from the head as goes the saying. They do need to strip them in public of their uniforms. This show will not solve even a very tiny bit of the gigantic corruption problem in Nigeria and Africa. These 2 policemen have still kids and families to feed. This is an extreme punishment for "small fish:. Let's be serious. As for the Kenyan free visa, let's see how responsible people, Africans especially, will use it.

The US has no Visa to travel from state to state (although Tolls on EZPass will rip you) and they will find you like a stalker if you don't pay. Europe also has no Visa's to travel from country to country. No country in the entire African continent should have Visa's in the same way. I can understand tolls similar to the US or something, but the borders should not exist and should be removed to encourage business and free movement of people like every other western country does.

Those police men deserved what they got for their egregiously bad behavior which confirmed to the world how rotten our system is. But then again not justifying bad behavior, is it entirely their fault; let us wear other people's shoes and walk a mile in them before we come down too hard on them. Nigeria is a thoroughly broken system in which we ALL have contributed to one way or another, by our actions, inactions, words and silence.

@@abbyabiloye7299 I'm wondering why you're under different people's comments boldly declaring that they should look for other jobs 🙄. These men probably do not have more than an SSCE or maybe at best a Diploma. Do you have an idea how many educated youths are unemployed in Nigeria? What chance do they stand leaving their jobs because the conditions aren't palatable? This is not to excuse their corrupt behaviour, heck, I'm not even a fan of the police 😂. But you saying that they should have resigned or looked for another job is being insensitive to the plight of millions of Nigerians who are stuck with working under inhumane conditions.

What are you saying ma'am? To strip leaders would need strong institution. The stripping is done by the Nigerian Police. I disagree with your argument. They are supposed to be put in jail to send a message.

It's in Nigeria they refer to our denominations with months: Like saying collect (May #500, April stands for #400) like that as I witness when I boarded a commercial vehicle along Oyo Ibadan road this early Dec. All manners of terminologies being used for extortion of drivers.

Compared to most European systems which are based in the trust, the Nigerian system is based on lack of trust. Rather than cherry pick the extortion incidence of the bike rider, a better story could have been told. There were force men who met the rider and did their job professionally, but no reference was made to them. What kind of road block is erected using tree trunks? What does a standard road block look like and who is responsible for the financing of that project? Besides, why so many roadblocks, when digital cameras and unmanned aerial systems can be deployed peacefully. Finally and very importantly, what about the common traders who were accommodating, pleasant and honest with their business? Shouldn't their actions be projected to show that the common Nigerian is a good citizen?

I've always said Nigeria is failing in every industry, except maybe music. There are no journalists in Nigeria anymore. With what we saw in that lady's video, the question they should be asking is how many times has the government awarded contracts for those roads? When was the last award and who did it go to? Firing those officers is paying lip service to the main problem
