The cops were pretty chill bro. In Brisbane u get stopped by cops for doing a wheelie on the road on a pedal bike with no bike or motor. Those cops are so chill that they let u ride those surrons down the middle of the road and let u do wheelies and other tricks. I would be happy with those cops if I were you.

In sydney we pretty used to cops are rideouts on bushbikes also bc we are pretty much all on pushys but they say that they are there to protect the community and us riders but they can be a bit iffy sometimes

I live in Reno Nevada, & commute full time on "unlimited mode/off-road mode" e-Bikes,& use a 10kw Rawrr Mantis as my daily, & have ridden over 40k miles without ever getting stopped by police & encounter them daily. What i noticed,as long as you have on proper gear, especially a helmet, gloves & at least shoes of some sort, have turn signals, & a brake light & aren't worming all over the road, they'll leave you alone. I stick to 28mph, just like the law is here in Nevada, & only go faster when I'm forced to, like no shoulder & traffic is going 40+mph, or just need that lil adrenaline rush every now & again, but other then that i ride respectfully,& only go 15mph & under on bike paths

I don't know much about this scene, but totally agree with what you're saying: you're out and about doing something positive and healthy, physically and mentally. I'm assuming a lot of the bikes are illegal in terms of over 25kmh but hey, lots of things in life are worth doing and technically illegal lol interesting cop tactics... Heaps of resources to just impound a tonne of bikes but i guess the lady cop was right: they're more just trying to keep people safe and i guess encourage a friendly peaceful culture of these sorts of groups. If they just went crazy impounding everything, there'd still be a hundred kids the next day and wouldn't make a difference except to make people angry. But interesting they do raids too... I guess they target leaders because they're secretly hoping it will lead to an end to these sorts of groups? Safety first combined with stealth tactics to destroy lol
