Small town cops protect the path of least resistance. I had the Thief on camera, had his name, and an address...
My Truck was stolen and i wasn't really upset about it until the cops wanted to arrest ME!!! I mean i'm no model citizen but damn, i'm the victim here people!!! I had the kids face, his name, his address, acquaintances, i had everything but the damn kid and the cops want to arrest ME!!!

yeah man me too, i even posted a "thank you for not destroying my truck" IG Video to the kid lol. Just glad to get it back, especially after the insurance company started giving me prelim numbers...i would have taken quite the hit

Damn!! That's nuts. I don't even know what to think. I'm just gonna let the insurance company handle it. I'll let them insulate me from all that minutia and just collect my check to replace those stolen items.

Bro...The insurance angle was even worse, they had an adjuster call me and give me some prelim numbers and i was furious. Luckily i got my truck back with no damage.

A vehicle is one of the biggest purchases that we make. There is normally hundreds (even thousands ) of hours of work going towards paying for these things. To have someone steal it (or wilfully damage it) is one very low act. Hope you are Ok.

no, it was actually in a different city (the neighboring city). The "investigator" assigned to the case never called me.

the world is turning into a place where the criminals are the good guys now. Police don't like it when you do their jobs for them, it makes them feel belittled lol. Glad it all worked out though and you got the truck back.

So the police are mad at you for doing their job, which they weren't doing. As is typical in this society, the victim gets blamed instead of the perpetrator. And people feel threatened by the mere asking of questions, and when you politely leave, they call the police. Makes you want to see a psychiatrist to make sure you're living in the real world sometimes.
