ProJared Plays! other people beat me to the punch, but to be fair I only found out about and starting your videos in sept (2019) and they're right... you're talking about Lucky and Wilde... here in windsor we had it when I was a kid at Wheels Roller Skating after it moved locations to Wheels and Hyperspace on this street called McDougall (just incase anyone from here is thinking of Wheels before it moved). They also had Street Fighter 2 so it had to've moved mid 90s. I forgot the name of Lucky and Wilde for so long until I searched it up in like 2018 on utube just hinting at what game it was. I loved how it showed the facial reactions of the 2 drivers especially when you did something good.

Jared, the arcade game you're thinking of is called "Lucky and Wild". Lucky was the driver and Wild was his partner. I remember playing it with my sister, she drove (she is older) and sometimes I had to shoot both guns while she concentrated on driving.

The arcade game you're thinking of is "Lucky & Wild", a Namco title. It was two player -- one person drove and had a pistol mounted on the dashboard they could shoot with, while player 2 had a freely detachable lightgun to shoot with. It was a really cool game! Awesome "fake 3D" graphics using sprite scaling, and there was a ton of digitised speech as Lucky and Wild (the two protagonists) bantered with one another in the rear-view mirror in true buddy cop movie tradition. Don't think it ever got any home ports, which I always thought was a bit of a shame -- but then part of its appeal was the enormous cabinet with the lightguns, so it would have probably lost something in the translation!
@josephfanning12416 жыл бұрын
Your memory's a little off, they're technically not light guns, they're carefully calibrated joysticks, and both are mounted to the dash. Source: The L&W arcade machine in my garage.
@ThisIsPete6 жыл бұрын
Ah, interesting! I only ever played it once as I only ever saw it in the wild once, but it left quite an impression on me. Was player 2 not a light gun? I'm sure I remember that gun being fully detachable.
@josephfanning12416 жыл бұрын
Nope, both guns only swivel on their base. It's a very clever use of what's really just an analog joystick.

I remember playing a very similar game on the Genesis (I think via the Sega Channel), although you could choose from 3 vehicles to use in your chase: sportscar, whatever they called an SUV back then (based on a Jeep Cherokee I think), and a semi truck (sans trailer).
