a couple years back some lady ran a red light and hit my brother head on. it was the middle of nowhere so there weren’t many witnesses and the lady tried to say my brother was the one who ran the light and hit her, not the other way around. no one nearby actually saw; and usually the words of a crying bmw driving middle aged woman are more reliable than a college student on a modded r1.. he probably would’ve gotten in trouble if he didn’t have his camera with proof that she ran that red light and hit him

If a cop pulls you over for a camera on your helmet demand he give you a ticket for it. The reason he lets this guy go is because there is no law making it illegal to attach something to your helmet. The Federal code referenced in this video applies to helmet makers, not owners.

I wouldn’t demand a ticket, but the reason he didn’t write a ticket is because he knew the biker would have been able to won the case (one can argue that a camera is essential for the bases of insurance claims and to figure out who’s actually at fault in an accident). Imo a camera on the bike itself is not as good as one on the helmet.

Interesting conversation with the second officer.... When I first started riding a certified motorcycle officer pulled me aside while I was in the police station parking lot (yeah, we hung out there in the neighborhood back in the day.) He saw my bike and asked me some questions before asking permission to show me a few things. (He obviously knew I was a brand new rider.) He sat on my bike and showed me how to stop properly, how to sit at a stop light while at the ready but most importantly he showed me how to use the front brake in an emergency. Well, I do believe that information saved my life once. To this day I wish I could thank the guy.

The laws like that are passed because rigid mounts on a helmet will cause severe injury in a wreck. They snag on the pavement and break your neck. The laws are poorly written so they apply it to adhesive mounts too even though they just break off in a crash.

In Las Vegas all the gas comes in from California thru one single pipeline. It then goes by truck around southern NV and Utah. A truck driver said all the 87 comes out of the same 87 tank when they fill the truck and so on for each grade. The only difference is the additives that are added while the truck is filled. The additives for Shell, Chevron and the rest of the gas station are difference. All he does is put in a type of credit card and it takes care of the blending.

In California, they passed a law that ear plugs are now illegal. I understand why, because they think you won't hear traffic, horns or sirens, but they don't know what they are talking about. But lawmakers often don't have a clue. They primarily reduce wind noise, which has been shown to cause deafness long term, and fatigue during riding. You can actually hear other things more clearly, once the wind noise is reduced. So, I am once again faced with the choice of doing what is right and safest, or following the laws and regulations. Smh at the People's Republic of California.

I wear a body cam as part of my work uniform and if it needs to be activated we immediately return to base to download and burn a copy to a disk. I also have a Sena 10C Pro attached to my helmet, as you pointed out, you never know when a car is going to wipe you out. Check out the law, see if it clarifies whether your helmet can't be modified or can't have attachments, there is a legal point of difference. Stay safe.

Terry Morrison its not just cameras you dumbass. The law is because stuff that protrudes off of the helmet can catch on pavement in a crash and break your neck. He used camera as an example because thats what the rider had on at the moment. The law pertains to anything you stick on your helmet. Put the camera on the bike and its fine.

I still put ethanol poisoned gas in both my carbed bikes, just put fuel stabilizer in if you aren't going to finish the tank quickly. For a fuel injected bike, your money could be better spent elsewhere.

Fuel stabilizer is not going to help with ethanol. Actually it's just as bad as the ethanol. All the other additives don't help either. Nice try.

Just as bad as ethanol?? Says who? What problems does fuel stabilizer cause? Straight from the bottle: “Using STA-BIL regularly fights ethanol problems, prevents corrosion build up and maintains a clean fuel system.” Could they be lying? Sure, I don’t lab test every product’s claim, but I also don’t have carb problems relating to fuel going bad. After fixing the previous owner’s mistakes of course.

Somebody should challenge that in court. Sue the state for freedom of speech infringement. Gluing the mohawk things to our helmets is self expression and is protected by our first amendment and those are not dangerous in any way. They are pushing cyclists around because those goofy mohawks might intimidate someone. If it does, it's the problem of the one feeling timid and they should seek help. Now there's an opening in the marketplace for helmets with integrated cameras. Someone will sell those at an entirely ludicrous price because "Murika, why not gouge others?"

It was state, you can tell by his shoulder patch and the fact he was a dick, although not all of them are. I actually had one a few years back pull me over for a "wobble" and all he ask was if I was OK, then I told him I was laughing about something. This started a conversation about what was funny, where you going, etc. I told him my father in law said the only way I would ever get him on my bike was over his dead body (his ashes were in the saddle bag) and I just remembered that, was on the way to Bremerton to the Navy area to deliver his ashes for burial at sea. The officer came to attention, salute the bags and wished me God Speed. Nice guy.
