This is a brilliant documentary! One full hour of goosebumps. I’m blessed with being part of the catechism team in Northern California and Western US. The sentiments described here are exactly what see with every single convert! They all love the church as she is, never wanting her to change. Knowing that we come to church to change ourselves to the better and conform to the image of Christ is exactly the teaching of our Lord and His apostles. Glory be to God!

P.s. going to church with a lot of Ethiopians has made me realise that the Ethiopians are even more strict in their fasting and have even longer services, so that's something of a consolation for those that recently joined the Coptic church 😅

Ageed, that's true. The liturgy in Ethiopian churches lasts 3.5 to 4 hours sometimes. The rules are: Before taking communion you have to fast 18 hours, and also no intimacy for 3 days.

25:37 The comment about Coptic hymns was spot on. When you translate them into English, Arabic or any other language they're difficult to fit into the melody. Really good deacons can pull it off sometimes but other times it's just impossible.

Such a wonderful and beautiful documentary, both in its content & production. Comforting to see the spirit of Orthodoxy and the spirit of our fathers in the hearts and teachings of these members. Almost feels like they sometimes have more Orthodox views than we sometimes do 😅but as it should be! Truly God pours His Spirit and provides His servants in every generation.
