So interesting to come across your channel and this video today as I was doing this exact thing yesterday. I was hoping you'd have a good workaround for multiple pages, as I had 29 to go through one-by-one. One thing that helped a bit for me was I noticed when I pressed 'Next Page', I was able to keep all the data highlighted for copying and didn't have the additional click-drag on each additional page. Still cumbersome, especially since I thought I remembered a keyboard shortcut (ctrl-shift-v) to copy the data as text, but the version at the library made me use the menus. I was looking for all people in the tree that had a particular location anywhere in their record. So, after I had all the names in one place, I made some columns filled with a formula to figure that out for me and sorted on that. It worked quite well! I hope you figure out a workaround to get the initial copy over process more streamlined as I've got some even larger trees to go through.

This is awesome - thank you. I have put a complaint into Ancestry a few times asking for their system to be easily copied into a spreadsheet.

It's my own tree I would want to download - not really others. this is great.

That was brilliant, thank you. I have started putting dna matches into a new research tree but would like the data in excel too

Your video was very helpful and I am interested in a video on how to separate the birth/death dates from the locations

You select text then use the arrow keys, not scrolling. More control.

After I do 'Text to Columns' step and 'finish', my Birth and Death columns disappear. I have tried it several times in case I did it wrong but those two columns disappear every time.

Great, thank you. Do you happen to know a way of downloading all of the source image URLs for an individual? My idea is to then use a browser extension to automatically open each image in its own tab, so I just have to sign in and save it to the relative person.

An interesting question. Unfortunately, I had a look and I can't see a way to grab that.

What do you do for a family tree with 1000s of people and 100s of pages to download?

If its not your own tree then its a lot of work unfortunately.

I wonder if this process could be reversed. If that were the case you could easily edit/make data uniform in bulk in excel/google sheets/etc. and then run the code "backward" to a GEDCOM file and reupload it as a new tree.

I've noticed branches in my tree where I consistently spelled a name incorrectly. It would be handy to make a bulk change in Excel and reverse it in. But a little tricky, I think.
