This is how to change your VW Jetta transmission fluid without having to buy any special tools or gravity fed refilling kits. If done correctly, this should save you some serious cash my friends.

Update: I know have 230,000 miles on this beast. It has been a very reliable car and I did this same transmission change 4 times with no problems, until now. I'm getting the P720 and 715 code errors indicating speed sensor issues. Thanks for viewing this, I hope the video helped but I did find an even better one online and I would highly suggest using his method over this one (even tho this version obviously worked well). Why don’t you fill from the bottom? I truly need help. Did a motor replacement and not sure what its shifting hard. I filled from the bottom and the over flow came out.

I think that remove the plug from the place is very risky, is better, in that case, unscrew the torks bolt ( 50 I think) in the upper side of the transmission to fill from there

That don’t make any sense I worked on cars for years imma tell u something if you drain ur engine oil and 4 qts came out but the factory said it hold 6 will u only put back in 4qt of engine oil hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm transmission oil burns too

This is totally normal in this kind of fluid change, and he’s right - put back what you took out, then check the level. The reason is - in an automatic transmission much of the fluid is up in the clutches, torque converter, valve body, etc. You can get it all out without either taking it all apart or running a flush. This is still a good way to change fluid and filter.

Yes. Def get that. Also, make sure you use those spacers. They should come with the new gasket set but if they don’t, use your old ones. You will damage your pan if you forget them. Good luck my friend.
